These gillnetters are heading back into Steveston after a 12 hour Sockeye opening.

A male American Goldfinch, half-way to his summer color, which will be a striking yellow.

After a long absence away from Flickr, I'm pleased to say I'm back, although I'm pretty sure my photos aren't that popular on here :P To kick start my return, 881, A10 EYD is photographed heading towards the South Bay on seafront service 109, although I still can't help calling it the 'Corner Cafe'! 881 was new in 2001 to London Go Ahead subsidiary London General as their X579EGK. EYMS acquired her in late 2011 for Open top work in Scarborough, repainting her into this new and very bright 'sunshine' livery. Enjoy!

Black-footed Ferret (Mustela nigripes) just coming out of a prairie dog burrow and starting its run around the town as it hunts. Image taken in Colorado.

I went out to check on the PMLR bridge a twilight or three ago. It's coming up wonderfully. Sites like this though engender some of the worst cases of wanting to trespass though. Oh, all the interesting angles there must be down there. I behaved myself on this particular evening though and found an interesting peek through the fence instead.

Here's another photo of fun on a vintage Ski-doo snowmobile. My neighbor restored several of these and they are obviously a good ride.

Taken and originally posted in 2014.

Two cable cars passing each other on Powell Street. The red one is heading toward Fisherman's Wharf, which the cream one has just left and is now on its way to the top of Nob Hill.

Canada Warbler

Warbler season is impending here. A couple of reports of Yellow-rumped Warbler sightings have been issued in the last two days.

At first I thought these cows were at an impasse, unable to decide what to do or where to go. But, after observing a bit, I think they were using their tails, helping each other swat flies off their faces on that hot July morning. After today I may be off a bit, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Another from the beach at Fort Funston.

Spent a large chunk of yesterday traveling around various tube stations to take photos of them. This is something I've done before, but I wanted to do it somewhat differently this time - Clapham Common Station on the Northern Line, with trains in motion on both sides of the island platform.

Led by F40PH No. 333, Amtrak's westbound Pennsylvanian rounds a curve and will arrive in the station in Lewistown, Pennsylvanian, momentarily. (Scanned from color negative film)

Many Happy Returns, 'Hagley Hall'. There is great anticipation of the return to traffic of the Severn Valley Railway's flagship locomotive, former Great Western Railway 'Hall-Class' No. 4930 'Hagley Hall'. Following withdrawal from service by BR in 1963 the locomotive languished in Woodham's scrap yard until purchased by the SVR in 1972. Nine years later, and 'Hagley Hall' emerged from Bridgnorth Works, and straight back onto the main line. Seen here with Black 5 No. 5000, 'Hagley Hall leads the SVRA 'Inter City' charter from Hereford to Chester through Baschurch on 22nd September 1979. Withdrawn by the SVR in 1986, No., 4930 again languished firstly on the SVR, and then for a period on display at a designer shopping outlet on the site of the former Swindon Works, where 'Hagley Hall' had been built in 1929. The long awaited second overhaul commenced in 2013, and a second 'happy return' is planned when the locomotive re-enters traffic in mid-2022. A crop duster drops in on a canola field near Harden in southern NSW.

We had to get up at 4 AM to see this but it was well worth. The colors under the first sun rays were reall coming to life. Sunrise at Hopi Point on the South Rim.
