The brakes are starting to heat up as CN 5563 South dives into the Lake Superior Basin., approaching Waldo, MN on Labor Day 2011. CN 5563, DMIR 404, and 407 have Minntac pellets for Two Harbors just 7 miles ahead. The 5563 will stop in a few miles, just south of Waldo, to recharge the air, before heading down the steepest part of the grade on the old southbound main into the yard.

West bound Milwaukee Rd train 107 is coming into Marion Yard in Sept 1979 after a 11 hour trip starting at Savanna ILL.The trees almost block the Marion yard sign to the right. The yard is still being switched 24 hours a day with crews working back and forth from Cedar Rapids. This yard will be full of cars by late tonight from Cedar Rapids switch job. These covered wagons will return back to savanna the next day.all of us stayed over night in our car till the crews went back on duty at 200am.We rode back with the train while one of the crews drove our car back to Delmar. You could never think of doing this today. The Mangler family which had more than 20 members of the family working for the railroad back then were very kind to us photographers

I knew we were in for a rain storm, today, so I went out for a bit yesterday to grab some shots before the heavy weather stripped the trees. I just like this bus coming up a steep country road. Possibly nostalgic (though most students here used school buses, I didn't. Here's a tip: don't move across the continent to a small town, and then find out that your mom is going to be your teacher!)

Phase1 - Flashover Training, Kentucky Fire Commission, State Fire Rescue Training.

We came across this training in Newport, Kentucky. They told us we were free to photograph and one fireman helped us get up close. Approximately ten firemen stayed in a smoke filled box for about a half hour.

When I am on the passenger side of car or truck ...I dial in the little running man on camera and try never to ask to stop......

Ferry traficing the English channel heading for Calais

One pedestrian against this beastie - no contest , and time to stand in the hedge while it trundles past ! You can see by the second shot just how wide this thing was and not to much clearance on the sides ! I took the shot blind just holding the camera down by my waist .

This track/bridleway is a busy place at the best of times with walkers , dog walkers , horse riders and so on and I guess this tractor gets right of way most times !!

Click2Focus day out to Blackpool 22nd July 2017

I remember this as being taken on a Saturday, when the Missus was at work. I'd spotted the working on Realtime Trains. The film was processed on Sunday 12th February 2014, so the photograph was probably taken the previous day. I didn't go far. A ten-minute drive takes me to this lonely stretch of line, 'twixt heath and plantation, where Sprinters hum boringly past, two in each direction every hour. So, anything a bit out of the ordinary is welcome. In this case it was some kind of top'n'tail ...er, engineers' train or something. Yellow coaches. To me the coaches are the most significant feature. They are, I think, BR Mark IIe or Mark III ...I'm not all that clued up on these matters... but in the great days of my railway travel they were the latest thing in passenger rolling-stock. Electrically heated, air-conditioned, sealed windows, I never really liked them. Now, here they were, working out a few extra years of service in "departmental" use. The Mark IIb (I think it was) was the last BR rolling-stock I liked. 37 511 (not so ...see below) at this end, 37 607 at the other.
