Beerfest in Wilhelmsburg

After half of this tree fell in our Christmas wind storm, the remaining portion had to be removed as it too was rotten where the two stems joined.

I just happened to be there when they made the first cut to remove the top. It came down in what looked to me to be a textbook example on how to get the job done.

ODC - A SOLITARY TREE

Fall is on its way back. Doesn't seem possible, really! We've had a very cold, wet summer...so much so that it hasn't really felt like summer at all for much of the last couple of months. And then today, what do I see but leaves well on their way to fall finery. Not MANY leaves, mind you...but more than I'm ready for!

Each time another of similar colour approached it launched itself for a few seconds of 'close encounters' before landing back on almost the exact same spot it took off from

I'm not sure whether it was coupling or defending it's territory as it all happened so quick!

This year we planted sunflowers, only three grew, they all blew over in a recent wind storm. We were only able to get one to continue to grow. It is finally "coming" into a big bloom and "going" to make the seeds in the bloom.

This picture was taken 7/13/2016 at 8am at the Dungeness Lighthouse. You see two large support ships and a submarine between them. You can see the subs conning tower behind the support ship in the right side of the picture. The smaller boat at the rear was one of four similar boats surrounding the sub and her support ships. I would imagine they were there to keep civilian boats away from the submarine. I believe all the protection was because the sub had nuclear weapons on board. Also, note the eagle watching her protectors pass by.

Here's the base of my newest design (folded in ORIPA). I'm hoping to start folding it next week, though I don't know how long it will take to fold.

I did a pounded metal stud with a backing the other day for myself and adored the look they give off with any given outfit so I decided I will make them an addition to the store for anyone else who is interested in them!

They will be sold in 3 metal finishes, this one being gold, silver and black.

I will release them soonish, I've been obsessing over the walking dead. Anything zombie+myself consumes all of my time.

This year's (mini-)Jack-o'-Lantern is an orange bell-pepper (later heading for a salad) ,with a small string of fairy lights inside, posed on top of an iPhone flashlight and a small pile of rocks.
