tour buses disgorge their passengers in front of the fun and funky stores of seligman for a quick cuppa joe and a cig. dressed in their southwest leisure wear, all bright colours, skinny capri pants and sandals they do the 30 min stop to get a feel of the "real" america.

when the busses pull away, storekeepers breath a quick sigh of respite until the next bus arrives.

today a special treat, seligman was having a car show. how perfect. classic cars, the mother road and then back on the bus.

Good morning an a Happy New Year to you all.

Here is another image from my time at Paignton Beach on New Years Eve. An approching storm made for some nice cloud formations adding a bit of drama to the sky and the sun made a very brief appearance. A freshening wind helped create some motion to the outgoing tide too.

Thank you for looking and hope 2025 is a good one for you all.

We're launching something new this week. Here's your very first look...

off to san francisco for a long weekend...

I just flew back home to New Jersey this week, it's good to be back :-)

I think coming home got my head thinking about house, hence this post.

Man, I got a ton of good shots with Valorie this night. This was shot right after walking her through the steps to bring in the exposure, f/stp, iso and focus for her own picture. She took to it quickly. ...and quickly realized she's not that much into shooting stars ;-)

I really like this composition. And a huge thanks to her for supporting my pursuit of this photography.

Really sad news: while editing this picture, I found out my Mac laptop screen is actually dying. The edges are vignetting, which really sucks. But while comparing the same image open on my screen and open on my brother's brand new Mac- I found out my screen is also not displaying the purplish hue!

Which, on one hand is great because that's a really annoying color that shows noise in long exposures... :-) So, somehow I have mind-ninja'd my laptop into not showing the noisier color channels that I want gone....

I'm a bit peeved to think I'll have to always proof my edits on an external monitor now...

Oi. Dear Santa, a new MBP to replace my old guy please???

Ooh- quick update, my Mom is making Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cofee Cake (say that over and over) and she just handed me the beater to lick clean...... it is goooood to be home!

Not sure I'll post another before Christmas, so in case- Happy Holidays everyone and I hope you get some good time in with your friends, family and loved ones.

Taken this past June in Etosha , Namibia, It was late in the day and we were headed to the next camp when out of the corner of my eye I saw a female lion and then off in the distance a beautiful male lying down. We stopped and took a few images and then the male got up and slowly walked towards us. What a thrill to see this magnificent creature so close. I was truly in awe of his incredible majesty and thrilled to be able to capture a few images before he strolled off.

Wishing you a beautiful and blessed evening !!!

. . . In just a few short weeks (days?), these vines will awaken, and many tourists will visit this spot! Very cold and windswept when I visited here last in February, it will come alive with people as one of the Old Mission Peninsula's favorite destinations.

Have a great week Facebook and Flickr friends!

My friend is coming my way at the highest speed. We've been snowboarding for the last 15 years and these days, we prefer free-riding more than free style like jumping, sliding and so on. He is absolutely a high-speed addict. So am I.

A young (I want to say 3rd calendar year?) White-eyed gull that stalled in the air in an attempt to identify possible prey. If I recall there wasn't anything there this time, but there has reliably been a large number of schooling fish in the area, the prize for most of the terns and gulls in the area.

After a break of several months, there will be new photos again. Why a break? I was in such a creative slump and the question of meaning, that I didn't like anything anymore. If I had continued to edit images, I would have deleted entire folders from the hard drive.

Not much has actually changed. The hope that a complete break from photography would benefit me has not been fulfilled. But: all the old pictures on the hard drive need to be edited. Maybe as far as this is concerned I can make a few steps further.

Hi guys! Sorry it's been a long time. I'm back at work now and am super duper busy. Since my last post, I enjoyed nearly two weeks in New Zealand and took so, so many photos. I cannot WAIT to share them. For now, I'm still going through pictures I took during 2016.

I was so happy to go back and visit NYC again last year in August. It still remains as one of my favourite places in the world. I ventured over on my own and was met by my beautiful friend <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/ginaballerina/Gina and her family. They took me in for a week and a bit and I couldn't have been more grateful. It was so great to be reunited after 4 years. Here's a shot from one of our photo adventures! Gina took an awesome shot of me that same afternoon, so please go and check it out on her account here.

She is starting to change more every day. Looking more like an adult female cardinal. Her color is coming in nicely and the dark is leaving her beak. Right now she is at the birdbath peering at me inside the window. Trying to decide if she should be alarmed or not.
