She is starting to change more every day. Looking more like an adult female cardinal. Her color is coming in nicely and the dark is leaving her beak. Right now she is at the birdbath peering at me inside the window. Trying to decide if she should be alarmed or not.

Hi guys! Sorry it's been a long time. I'm back at work now and am super duper busy. Since my last post, I enjoyed nearly two weeks in New Zealand and took so, so many photos. I cannot WAIT to share them. For now, I'm still going through pictures I took during 2016.
I was so happy to go back and visit NYC again last year in August. It still remains as one of my favourite places in the world. I ventured over on my own and was met by my beautiful friend <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/ginaballerina/Gina and her family. They took me in for a week and a bit and I couldn't have been more grateful. It was so great to be reunited after 4 years. Here's a shot from one of our photo adventures! It feels SO good to wander and have your adventures but at the end of the day ... there's no place like home. This GBH was coming home to the nest.
I even left the contrails in ... some how it seemed right.

After a break of several months, there will be new photos again. Why a break? I was in such a creative slump and the question of meaning, that I didn't like anything anymore. If I had continued to edit images, I would have deleted entire folders from the hard drive.
Not much has actually changed. The hope that a complete break from photography would benefit me has not been fulfilled. But: all the old pictures on the hard drive need to be edited. Maybe as far as this is concerned I can make a few steps further.

Nach einer Pause von mehreren Monaten gibt es wieder Fotos von mir. Warum eine Pause? Ich war derart im kreativen Loch und der Frage nach dem Sinn, dass mir nichts mehr gefallen hat. Hätte ich weiter Bilder bearbeitet, hätte ich wohl ganze Ordner von der Festplatte gelöscht.
Eigentlich hat sich nicht viel verändert. Die Hoffnung mir würde eine komplette Pause von der Fotografie etwas bringen hat sich nicht erfüllt. Und es nützt ja nichts: Die ganzen alten Bilder auf der Festplatte wollen bearbeitet werden. Vielleicht schaffe ich es zumindest was das betrifft ein paar Schritte weiter.

As 172345 and 172006 depart Bordesley with 2V02 Stratford-upon-Avon to Worcester Forgate Street, 82309 leads 1H35 Stourbridge Junction to London Marylebone out of Birmingham, with HVO 68014 pushing.
The WMR service was one of a handful of services to stop at the unloved Birmingham station, in order to provide extra capacity for fans travelling to Birmingham City vs Leeds United. The Chiltern Mk3 set on the other hand had just a week left in service.
Network Rail (NR) is proposing to close the railway station at Bordesley, Birmingham, on or after 4 June 2029.
NR has developed plans to increase the capacity and connectivity of the Midlands Regional Rail network by providing more services into Birmingham’s Moor Street and Snow Hill stations.
This means 2 new elevated connecting tracks (chords) are required to connect the lines on the existing Bordesley viaduct from Birmingham’s Snow Hill and Moor Street stations to the Camp Hill line.
The junction for the chords will be located in the space Bordesley station occupies. To construct the new chords, Bordesley station must be closed and removed.
Storm clouds just after sunset. I could really go for some Florida weather about now. It's 7 degrees Fahrenheit (-13 C) right now and getting colder. It's going to be -20 F with the wind chill tomorrow morning. Ugh.

For Monorail Monday here's a shot from the Contemporary Hotel. The inspiration for this photo goes to Scott Chenoweth. He did a similar shot and told me how he got it. I ended up shooting at a different location than his but he gave me the idea. Everyone have a great week.
Two trains pass on Steelton Hill on December 1, 2015. Our first snow of the 2016-17 season is expected later this week, although the Ports are expected to miss the heavy stuff, which will fall on the Range.

Week 49/52: Story-telling, - Show the weather at its best. Not a snowstorm thankfully, but a rather silent snowfall, helping us into a festive mood.
After a long swim across the pond (see first comment below), and with mom impatiently egging her chicks on to move faster, this little black-necked stilt rushes to catch up with her and the other chicks. Go, little one!

Rockfield Bay, aptly named the field at the back of this bay was full of rocks! There is a storm coming in from the east but it missed me.
