I'm putting the final touches on Gram's and she's getting impatient. "I've been waiting for over two years!" she kindly reminded me.

WSOR's 351-21 job comes back from Spring Grove, IL on their Fox Lake Subdivision and enters Wisconsin, just south of Hebron, IL. An old Espee SD40 variant in Helm Dark Blue leads a handful of cars heading back for Janesville, WI.
I was literally on the way home from my T4 chase when this train was randomly rolling eastbound over Hwy. 12 in Richmond, IL just a few hours before, and was a nice way to end the day. Quite the chance encounter on a line that sees the bulk of its' activity under the cover of darkness.
Meandering south towards Martinsburg, the daily train of the Everett Railroad passes trackside homes in the quaint little town of Roaring Spring, PA.
Oil and Gas supply vessel entering port, Aberdeen Harbour during the 2018 Beast from the East Storm.
Taken at 11am coming back to Toronto from the cabin. I drove pretty much on the edge all the way home. I used the iPad to shoot this and couldn't exactly see what I had taken. What a nice surprise. The yellow car works like magic. The sky maybe too dark but dodging it gives it too much grain. No exposure on my iPad.
this is being displayed at Focus for the monthly contest, which the theme is Lighthouses
If you think it is worthy of a vote please visit and vote for me...the competition this month has some amazing images and I am not sure this is really one of them ~ thanks
It's around six in the afternoon on a mid December afternoon. A thick fog is descending. An Indiana Northeastern crew, with their two SD40-2's, have been at it since before dawn loading a grain train a handful of hoppers at a time. They're done for the day and have tied and shut down their power, though the lights haven't gone out quite yet.

KCSM 4064 brings up the rear of ethanol train CP 528 as CN 123 with CN 5679 & CN 2505 heads west through Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
Here's a little BTS shot of my next video for another great item from The Factory, their Katana.

Architectural detail of Downtown Dallas' Magnolia Hotel, originally opened in 1922 as the Magnolia Petroleum Building.
. . . In a few days to a week, this beauty will burst open for the world to see and all will marvel at it's beauty! Bees and insects will be drawn to it's bright colors and all will be well with the world!
Too much? Oh well, I can dream! Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
Long Bridge Park in Arlington, Virginia is known to the railroad simply as "RO", originally named for the Rosslyn Operator which is the tower that controlled this spot many years ago. It is also right within the flight path of DCA, and sometimes things just come together for you. When I can't travel due to time constraints (I do try to do civilian things on weekends from time to time) I'll come chill out here to get my fix. The evening of July 14th was turning dark and stormy as 2 Amtrak trains pass- one about to end their journey in DC, and the other just beginning their trek south as an Air Canada jet comes in for a landing. Unlike my previously posted image here, this is actually not a composite, as I stretched my 18-300 lens out to tele smash everything in.
Deadhead and revenue moves are meeting over the St. Lawrence River during the morning rush hour. At left EXO 1328 leads EXO 76 towards the island of Montreal, while EXO 1320 at right pushes EXO H73 towards the South Shore. It will provide the consist for EXO 80, the 0825 departure from Candiac for Montreal.

HIghway One as it enters Lompoc, the Valley of the Flowers.....
Years ago we cultivated and sold mustard--evidently it got out of hand !
And yes I'm highly allergic to it.

A nice long telesmash "in your face" shot from this spot.
Let's continue this easy slow speed chase of Pan Am train NMWA-13 across District One, the once great Maine Central Railroad Portland Division mainline. Here again is the trio of MEC 510, 316, and 7545 (a GP40-2LW, GP40, and C40-8 respectively) with their 4261ft long train of 59 loads and 4 empties seen putting on a show slogging along the battered jointed rail as they approach the thru girder span over Souadabscook Stream in this telephoto view from the Fuller Road crossing at about MP 75.3 on the modern day Freight Main.
