A day spent back in the area off my childhood sees me grab a time-out to snap a few trains from a spot that was once a regular haunt.

This shot captures the modern day equivalent of a Peak and rake of Mark 2s as Meridian 222020 speeds through Attenborough station with the 11.05am London St Pancras - Nottingham (1D29) express service. Have to say the colourful East Midlands Trains livery really brightens these units up and is a nice help for the snapper.

Strangely enough I took a shot from almost the exact same position in 1978 - it's not the best one I ever took here but it does provide a comparison with the scene 40 years ago.

A woodsy path at night connects two subdivisions and the street lights nearby offered just enough extra light for this 1.3 second exposure...We had a wonderful pre-Christmas snowfall that turned everything white and wonderful, and then it all disappeared for a week. But we have about 8 inches of fresh stuff tonight with more on the way tomorrow..it is so pretty when you don't have to drive somewhere.....my husband laughs at me when I say I hope we get a "snow day" on Monday so I don't have to go back to school yet... :-)

Was on the way home and heard this blowing its horn. Unfortunately it was a crawler and a long one. I was hoping to get a nice blurred shot but settled for the regular shots.

I then layered the few shots I had taken and came up with this one.

I followed this Key Deer fawn into the woods. She or he kept checking to be sure I was following, pausing and looking and inviting. She or he lead me to mommy. No pics of that.

Mostly peek a boo pics with leaves and distractions everyone, but I got this one image. Key Deer are endangered and are the size of a 50 lb. dog. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Northern entrance to the Bolte Bridge is delineated with this huge yellow bar suspended across the road. I always wonder what would happen if we had an earthquake, the size and force of Christchurch! However, there is more risk driving up in the Dandenong Ranges these wet and windy days.

Fortunately Jette was driving allowing me to take this photo!

Supposedly the yellow bar is called the "Cheesestick" and the red ribs the "rack of lamb" though I've never heard them called that! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CityLink

One of the pigs coming over for a visit, likely to see if I have food. Wauchope, Saskatchewan, Canada. 18 February 2021

I almost missed it, I took my tripod out and just started to take pictures. And it looks interesting, like the sun is coming, but it's not, it's the train, the trains is coming!

Nearly nine years ago this would have been a rather disappointing consist to have the GE on the point. Fast forward to today and I'd be more than ok with a consist such as this. CP 642 rolls East through Toronto with 8554 ICE 6405 5941 CSXT 8564

Always a good feeling to touch down shortly before sunset.

The eastbound Zephyr is making its way through the siding at Tabernash around an eastbound coal load with UP 1988 on the point. With the sun moving into the western sky, the light is just perfect near the east end of Tabernash.
