I spied this rose, in its second autumn bloom, trying hard to climb over the fence and I wanted to say "No- don't do it!!!" because on the other side is the decidedly banal mechanicals and loading dock area of the local big-box grocery store. Stay where you are, little beauty!

Here the osprey was stretching its body back up as it lowered to much as it approached the nest ... liked the lighting here and the clouds beyond.

I went out to photograph the skyline and was amazed and happy to see a climbing expedition making their way up (or down) Mount Hood! I couldn't see their lights with the naked eye but a fifteen second exposure did the trick. Neat!

We still have a view of the train station and a bit of Vico, but in climbing higher up the mountain, we have a super view of the Calabrian landscape, including the road to Cosenza and another town beyond and a few towns even further away. It would have been better to have a car. There was not much traffic, and the road to Guarno is definitely not pedestrian friendly. Still, we had a great adventure seeking my grandfather Gallucci's birth record.
I'm climbing the walls because I have lost my camera battery charger. I think I may have left it in California. I have no power. I guess I will need to order a new one online. I could scream! No more new photos for a little while.

while gemma is extremely verbal, her climbing and jumping have been slower to develop. she is really trying though.
