Here the osprey was stretching its body back up as it lowered to much as it approached the nest ... liked the lighting here and the clouds beyond.

I went out to photograph the skyline and was amazed and happy to see a climbing expedition making their way up (or down) Mount Hood! I couldn't see their lights with the naked eye but a fifteen second exposure did the trick. Neat!

Even reaching the top of Casarola from Scalucchia Pass can be a difficult task. The whole trail was a single sheet of ice, and the use of crampons was mandatory.

I had some incredible quality time watching the condors in Pinnacles National Park, a release site for these critically endangered birds. Here, the five-year-old male 602 is just moving from the tree trunk stump to this higher branch. Most interesting how he used his beak and wings as he climbed up the branch to the highest twig. 602 was raised at the Los Angeles Zoo before being released into the wild.
We still have a view of the train station and a bit of Vico, but in climbing higher up the mountain, we have a super view of the Calabrian landscape, including the road to Cosenza and another town beyond and a few towns even further away. It would have been better to have a car. There was not much traffic, and the road to Guarno is definitely not pedestrian friendly. Still, we had a great adventure seeking my grandfather Gallucci's birth record.

He likes doing it because that way he can see the squirrels better! lol
So he decided to go all the way to the end of this tree, but it was just soooo high at the end of it that i was afraid he could fall and break a leg or something....so i urgently called him back, and he responded by giving me looks of "boring" and just turned around like a cat with no problems at all and came back towards me lol

while gemma is extremely verbal, her climbing and jumping have been slower to develop. she is really trying though.
