Making a Christmas Card for the business (pre text)

Christmas Day...eve in Safety Bay, WA.

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and one spectacular New Year for 2010!

Latte and his humans would like to wish everyone on Earth a Joyous Christmas.

May peace prevail and all animals be well fed.

.... and I know this because my Christmas Cactus is in flower!! ;-)

Taken on my deck today...

I love it when this Christmas Cactus bursts into flower. It’s such an ugly plant for most of the year, but it really comes into its own in December… :-)

Such an awesome card! Peppermint fudge recipe inside. :)

Participated in the annual year-end mass consumerism. I admit it was fun watching everyone open their presents and seeing their smiles, though! :)

Christmas in November

Christmas 2013

Since I have more than 60 ties, this is my very own Christmas gift.

On the left a Pentacon 135/2.8, on the right a Pentacon 200/4, both manufactured in the German Democratic Republic. Of course they have a M42 mount.

I took a photo of them while they are still clean and pristine ;-)

Soon I'll post some test images.

christmas is coming........One man and his dog.

Shooting early suited the tranquil composition and timely so as the Pacific very quickly shut-off after clearing Guildford's twin tunnels.

christmas is here. it's a pain in the ass, but fun.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like the Passenger Superintendent's round-cornered, gilt-edged card.

Happy Christmas!

While the top line is in Gill, the other sans looks line-set (Metro by Linotype?). I'd like to know what that messy face is used for the display lines. Anyone?

Have a blessed Christmas everyone!!

Every year, I'm asked to play Santa for the Children's Christmas Party for Borough Employees. Here is a photo taken during this years party.

My favorite Christmas Story happened the first time I did this 13 years ago. The party was going in full swing, I opened the door in full Santa gear and loudly asked if there were any good little boys and girls.

Of course this caused a stampede of little footsteps. It became clear, it was going to take the elves a bit of time to clear a path for Santa to make it to his chair. So I got down on a knee and right in front of me was a small boy of about 4. He had a name tag that covered about 70% of his chest that said "Josh".

So I said "Josh! have you been a good little boy this year!" Josh immediately started off with..."Why yes Santa I've been very good this year". Suddenly he stopped and his eyes widened like only a 4 year old can do and in a soft voice..."Santa! How did you know my name!".

Well I looked at the name tag and felt it wouldn't be appropriate to say it's on your name tag. So I started in..."Well Josh, it's majic, I don't know everything, but when I need to know something it pops into my head! Now, honestly Josh, have you been a good little boy this year?"

Suddenly he was looking at his feet, his lower lip was hanging way out and large tears were forming in the corners of his eyes. I was thinking great! first kid I'm Santa for and I make him cry!. So I went..."Well Josh, it's a whole week till Christmas, we can still fix this! You make your bed, clean your room, do what your mommy and daddy tell you to do and offer to help around the house and I bet we can still get something good under your tree!"

Well that seemed to stop the tears and the rest of the evening was filled with the high energy of 50 kids high on sugar.

It turned out that Josh's mom, worked a few desks away from me. After a few days she came into my office and asked..."What did you tell Josh! he's being a little angel but I can't get him out from underfoot while he's trying to help me do everything around the house!"

I guess there really is a Santa Claus after all!
