Iris season, when they really shine, comes after the bulbs and other early Spring flowers and before the lilies. They are complicated flowers, but after a hard rain, they are positively chaotic. This close up is comprised of details from 24 images, combined in Helicon Focus, to create depth of field otherwise impossible to get at this magnification.

Le chaos - Huelgoat

yesterday i watched von Trier's Antichrist, i'm still in mood, so i found a dark pic of myself:) the film is good, but definitely not his best. I must admit that i was very impressed by the visual aspect of its....and of course Charlotte rocks!

Lately i really have no time for photography and wait for summer to have more free time:/

"Art, in itself, is an attempt to bring order out of chaos."

~Steven Sondheim

I am not afraid of the darkness or the night. I'm afraid of the silence - where there is nothing to hide me from my own screaming thoughts...

As I hid my differences

Air or under false pretenses

I thought that others do not dance

Me hiding in the eyes of people

I have never followed your route

I wanted to trace my way

To go higher, go higher

Or we forget memories

Jump higher, go higher

Move towards the future

I lost both times the trace

Dreams where I lived

I have not been able to tell you I love you

Only you keep

It must also be doubts

And ask them in other hands

To go higher, go higher

And draw memories

Jump higher, go higher

And believe in the future

To go higher, go higher

And draw memories

Jump higher, go higher

And believe in the future

Jump higher, go higher

Move towards the future.

Chaos & Beauty

A misty woodland on the shores of Castle Loch, one of the three lochs that make up the village of Lochmaben. These are the conditions I love the most, and when combined with trees I am a very happy photographer.

This was the year that a giant earthquake hit Nepal. The people of Manaslu all suffered great losses in this chaos.

‘Twas looking for something and things ended up piling up on the edge/corner of my desk/table. Even the ducky is giving me eye-rolling attitude

I decided to head to Malibu, CA a few weeks ago to take some pictures at El Matador Beach. I always heard it was beautiful...and wow, it was.

I was there during a period of rain and there were high surf advisories all over southern California. Waves were pounding the cliff walls when I got there and conditions looked awesome to produce something unique. There was also ocean 'foam' all over, it didn't smell good. I threw on some neoprene socks and jumped right into the water. I shot for about 1-2 hours and got soaked. I got treated to an awesome sunset and had a blast though. It kind of went like this - sprint over here to try and get shot, get shot, cover camera with anything available to shelter it from oncoming wave, get soaked by wave, repeat.

Thanks for taking a look!

I love that the flowers on this hoya grow in spherical clusters.

I love how Fall comes in layers, and the same location looks completely different after a few more days of rain and cold.

Chaos is the science of surprises, of the nonlinear and the unpredictable. It teaches us to expect the unexpected. While most traditional science deals with supposedly predictable phenomena like gravity, electricity, or chemical reactions, Chaos Theory deals with nonlinear things that are effectively impossible to predict or control, like turbulence, weather, the stock market, our brain states.

Something different, just for fun. I just associated the word "chaos" with the hurricane season and we'll have maybe a major hurricane next week...total chaos!
