Die strenge, geometrische Struktur der Architektur gegen die ungeordnete, chaotische Struktur der Natur in Form von Wind und Wolken gegen die Sonne.
"....Tenho dois olhos contentes
E a boca fresca e rosada.
E a vaidade só consente
Vaidades, se desejada.
E além de vós
Não desejo nada."
(Hilda Hist)

Os flamingos
denunciaram teus lábios,
roçaram suas asas
pelo brilho
úmido.
Depois...
entontecidos,
mergulharam
nos teus olhos.
Moram quietos agora
no verde amar.

I know about the battles you fight everyday
The thought of going back to your old ways
I can see in your eyes that it tears you apart
Wasting all your strength to push back the dark
When your body's screaming yes
But your head keeps saying no
Just lose yourself completely and just let go
Can you feel it now, that sweet release?
Down, deep inside your soul
Makes you weak in the knees
Don't bother trying to fight
There's no place left to hide
Sometimes we just need a little chaos
In our lives

i was supposed to tidy it today but instead did some other jobs, did some internet stuff, organised an on line pub quiz for the village for tomorrow evening, dyed my grey hairs and taught myself to crochet.
anything to avoid tidying

A bit of Birmingham from the back seat of a moving car
Quite pleased with a sort of blend of order/chaos, bright/dark and colour/black
At the Lake Shore Rookery there were 6 or more events going on at any given time. The biggest event is when the parent arrived and the 'chaos' that prevailed to see who could get to the food source first! It was wonderful to watch and the sounds were incredible.

During the quarantine we were limited to a 1 kilometre radius from our home. This was the limit.
I wanted to get some photos of the Western Cattle Egret (Bulbcus ibis) but they had settled on the far life of the lake. I waited to the limit of my one hour with an old vintage telephoto lens. The sun was disappearing below the horizon when suddenly the flock appeared before the darkened pink sky.
A white pine in our front yard weathers our latest snow storm this morning, January 30, 2024. This now 50+' tall beauty was planted by our son when it was 1' high, as a first-grade science project.
AAW Feg 8 - 15: Chaos
This is a picture of the same room, thought I would try an in-camera double exposure to double the chaos. I used the Lensbaby, which made it trickier to nail focus, as it is manual and I had no help from the camera to see what was in focus. I tried to focus on the figurines, which are the little bit of beauty in the chaos, and with the Kleenex box anchor the image. In post, cropped and lightened the colours.
Yesterday morning I was up early getting ready to go pick up Ashley for a day out of shooting. When I started driving I noticed the clouds were so low in the sky. It felt like driving down a corridor where clouds replaced the ceiling. As I approached the canyon that I had to drive through to get to her, the fog became so thick I could barely see the car in front of me. I pulled off the road at the first chance I got, threw on my dress, set up my tripod and camera, and did what I felt in my heart was right to do. I didn't have an idea planned, but instantly I knew what would make me feel most fulfilled.
Shooting lasted 5 minutes and by the time I was finished I was soaked in mud - the bottom of the dress, my sneakers, the jumper I wore underneath. I felt bad because she was going to use that dress later in the day. When I arrived to pick her up I was warmly greeted with new shoes and a dryer to put the dress in, and all was well...or...all was *right*. Everything was in it's right place.
