I miss the ceiling fan. They could also be seen on the ceilings of trains when there were no air conditioners.
One lesson I learnt this weekend. - you can never go wrong with monsoon clouds just before the sun sets for the day. I have listened to a lot of people saying that the best light comes after a storm, only to notice it myself this Sunday. After cursing myself for not making it to the beach on Saturday, mother nature just gave me a 2nd chance on Sunday.
I just kept the shutter open just a little longer to capture the waves making their way on to the shores, trying to create a similar mood as the chaotic monsoon clouds set ablaze by the setting sun.

I think the title says it all here. But I was struck by the geometrical lines and shapes. It is interesting to compare the tonal effects of the first photo I posted this morning and this one. Same camera, similar time of day, but the angle of light is crucial. Only monochrome has the ability to bring out these subtleties of tone.

It was another weekend of Woking chaos in March 2022 with rail replacement buses dominating the scene outside the station once again. There were a nice variety of operators and vehicles who operated services out to Weybridge, Surbiton, Guildford and Basingstoke.
BABY CHAOS - HELLO
Bored and backstabbed I hate your friends
I won't miss them they don't listen
I WANT TO FREEWHEEL A WHILE IT'S EASY
AND NO-ONE TAKES ANY NOTICE
Curse my luck I'm stuck here with them
I dream all day of what I'm missing
I GOING TO FREEWHEEL A WHILE IT'S EASY
MAYBE I'LL TAKE OUT THE TIME TO SAY
HELLO I'M ALONE ARE YOU ALONE TOO
Got my blisters burning bridges
I want to show you why I did this
I GOING TO FREEWHEEL A WHILE IT'S EASY
AND NO-ONE TAKES ANY NOTICE
I'M GOING TO FREEWHEEL ALL DAY I'M LAZY
MAYBE I'LL TAKE OUT THE TIME TO SAY
HELLO I'M ALONE ARE YOU ALONE TOO
This is Chaos the burrowing owl. He lives at Imperial Bird of Prey in Billericay and he's a superstar! He's recently been on tv in 'The Life of Owls' on Channel 5. He's a super little bird, I feel very lucky to have photographed him.

AAW Feb. 8 - 15: Chaos
WIT: Not much, this room is my junk room/photo studio, as you can see my stuffed animals from a previous AAW assignment. Took a wide angle shot, then straightened the lines in Photoshop, cropped, and tweaked the colours.

This is an image I debated posting. A flock of Canada geese landed in the field across the road, and spent the afternoon working down the field. I took a few wide shots of the over 300 geese, then debated how to proceed when they took off as the afternoon waned. I decided to try to capture the chaos of the geese taking off with the mountain and farm in the background, rather than trying to isolate a slice of the erupting flock. I am not sure it was a great choise, as I find the image a bit too chaotic. And it was pretty hard to edit. Anyhow, will do better next time. As an aside, I was doing my normal check for sensor spots, and noticed the bottom quarter of the image was littered with spots. On closer inspection, they aren't sensor spots... Good thing I was not under the cloud of birds.

So... chaos... our lives are in chaos, the world is in chaos. That can only mean that better things are coming... right?!! RIGHT?!!!
In the meantime, I am thankful for this time off because I have so many projects to work on. No matter how long I have to stay at home, it can't possibly be long enough. So far I have started working on organizing 3 different areas of my house (key word = started). Anyone that has ever worked with me (or spent any amount of time with me) can tell you that organizing is NOT my strong point. I start, get sidetracked and then move on to something else... get distracted... and move on again... leaving a wake of chaos everyplace I have been. Eventually, when (and IF) I do finish the job, I do a good job, it just takes me longer than any other human being on earth would take to do the same job. Oh... I also started cleaning my car out today, too... didn't finish that either. Where did I ultimately end up?... at the abandoned farmhouse, battling the mosquitoes again, and replacing the door handle that some jerks stole off the door... which led to trying to figure out how I could replace one of the windows that the jerks smashed all the glass and the wooded panes in... I may have figured it out, but I'll need to find some help. I've painted the replacement window, but now I think it's the wrong shade of blue... but I think I can fix that too. Are you beginning to see a pattern here? Sadly, there is a better chance of finishing this project than all the cleaning/organizing projects in my own home. Chaos... after chaos comes WHAT?!! A great change.... let's hope it's a good one, because I have totally mastered the chaos part!
I want to be naked, running through the streets.
I want to invite this so called chaos, that you'd think I dare not be.
I want to be weightless, flying through the air.
I want to drop all these limitations and return to who I was meant to be.

So you may have noticed from my stream that I like night shots. Ever since I was quite young, I always wanted to be up late. Something about the night I have always loved. In my adult life, this has made me the total night owl. So on this late night, I was driving back from shooting on Las Vegas Blvd when my wife took this with the camera sat on the passenger dashboard. I gave her a quick tutorial, like 20 seconds, and off she went. She shot maybe 10 shots and this was the one she picked to upload. Chaos is what she called it, rather apt I think!
On processing, I upped the saturation a little and the vibrance alot! Increase the blacks and used recovery to help the highlights. All in all a pretty wild mess I am sure you will agree!
