impressions @ today's afternoon walk

17/52

.

Currently in Vietnam. I have no words to express my gratitude for the possibility of traveling. Of experiencing things in regards of my full good health. Of being capable of speaking an universal language and therefore communicate with a culture so enriched by centuries of growth, war and peace. It’s unbelievable how this land feels yet so sacred even after being ravaged by so much destruction. So much chaos. How the spirit of the people is still so fierce with hospitality, with sharing, with gratitude.

.

Strangely enough the only busy place I’ve been so far has been Hanoi, yet even there, amongst the chaos, there’s a certain beauty you only can find in Southeast Asia. The kind of gratitude that comes from fighting for the land your ancestors were made from and made of, and still being able to share it with thousands of curious people who want to see the beauty of the jungle, the powerful raw sense of being lost but still knowing your way, how truly majestic nature is and how it always roots back to its former way. Fierce and strong and bold. Like we all should do. Like we all should be.

Vietnam, it has been an honor to travel you. Still 15 days to go. 🌟

.

These self-portraits are currently being barely edited. Without a computer they can only be edited in regards to color processing. Apologies for he simplicity of the next few themes. In a way I’m so very grateful for that honest simplicity too. 🌟

the story behind the image~

the moment was quite surreal as i parked probably 12-15 feet from the chain railing seemingly safe from any danger and when my buddy david opened the car door; all i can remember seeing was "whiteness" and then the explosion of a wave and foam entering from the passenger side of my car! at that point it was bit chaotic and i could remember seeing my business car magnet begin to drift outward with the outgoing flow of ocean water towards the edge of the bay water. david's quick reaction saved the piece from its certain doom if it were to fall any further that way! looking over at david, he was now drenched and soaked from the bay water with his camera and tripod at hand in the same condition. we were intent on capturing the veracity of the moment and we were soon on track facing the dynamic waves watching their ritualistic dance explode in force before and around us. it was a sight to behold for sure. we did not stay long nor did we get many shots as david was cold being in the wet clothes. we decided to call it a day, hoping that we each had captured at least something as memento to the experience.

it is sometimes these little funny days that we remember most vividly in our journey creating pictures.

i hope you will enjoy this moment that i have recorded and share in the impact and glory of the moment. hopefully learn from it also!

if you get a chance take a look at david's "water wave blast"

special note,

1. my car's interior cup holder caught about an inch and half of salt water from the exploding wave over the cement & chain railing.

2. david's nikon camera and lens took a bit of a beating but is still in working condition!

3. it took me about 4 hours for me to get most of the car interior back to some sane condition!=)

4. david and i are "way" laughing about it now and probably will for a long time i am sure!

5. david is vowing that he will never shoot something like this again.

6. this is the same day that 13 spectators at Mavericks Surf Contest in California had significant injuries, including broken leg and hand.

we were very fortunate to walk away and laugh about it now!

Thanks to skagitrenee for the beautiful starter image (which you can see in the first comment box below) and which I have manipulated to within an inch of its life! :-)

I manipulated the original image by importing it into the Ultra Fractal program and used the Turbulence and Wheel mapping tools in the mt.uxf formulas and I then recolored it in PSE. It's amazing what the Mapping tools in Ultra Fractal can do! :-)

Best viewed in large size. Thanks for dropping by! :-)

Considering The World Economic Crisis.

When written in Chinese, the word "crisis" is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.

In a busy commercial area with lots of shops there were four more ‘connected’ poles like these.

It has been chaos around here with the replacement of the kitchen and the laying of new floor boards, but I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have most of the furniture in place and now only have to unpack all the boxes. The new flooring looks wonderful - I will try and take some photos in the morning when it is better light.

It takes chaos to create beauty..!!

Why does my dressing table always look like a bombsite after a little creative moment..??!!

Just a little messy moment from my day...😘

“La libertad es la única meta digna en la vida. Se gana haciendo caso omiso de las cosas que están fuera de nuestro control.” Epicteto

A veces no podemos dejar de pensar, sentimos como si perdiéramos el control sobre los momentos presentes. Nos puede llevar a desatar ira, tristeza, miedo, ansiedad… limitantes para la resolución creativa de los momentos difíciles.

“Freedom is the only worthy goal in life. It is earned by ignoring things that are beyond our control. " Epictetus

Sometimes we can't stop thinking, we feel like we lose control over the present moments. It can lead us to unleash anger, sadness, fear, anxiety ... limitations for the creative resolution of difficult moments.

Due to the closure of a major highway A2 for road works there was a traffic chaos in Nieuwegein last Friday. As the delays on the alternate route mounted a lot of navigation sytems advised to leave the highway and drive through Nieuwegein instead. As a result all local routes were flooded with cars and trucks. For the last part I went walking, wich was even faster than bij car.

Hey guys. More wh40k from me. I took a lot of liberties with this guy, so he isn't completely accurate to any individual faction or anything.
