Street vendor with sombrero
A street vendor is a person who offers goods or services for sale to the public without having a permanently built structure but with a temporary static structure or mobile stall (or head-load). Street vendors could be stationary and occupy space on the pavements or other public/private areas, or could be mobile, and move from place to place carrying their wares on push carts or in cycles or
baskets on their heads, or could sell their wares in moving buses. The Government of India has used the term’ urban vendor’ as inclusive of both traders and service providers, stationary as well as mobile, and incorporates all other local/region specific terms used to describe them, such as, hawker, pheriwalla, rehri-patri walla, footpath dukandars, sidewalk traders, and more.

The Big Khan Mosque is located on the Palace Square to the east of the northern gate. It is one of the largest mosques in the Crimea and one of the first buildings of the Khan's palace. The mosque was built in 1532 by Sahib I Giray and bore his name in the 17th century.
In 1736 the mosque was damaged by fire and later restored during the reign of Khan Selameta Giray.

The castle stands where probably the Hipponion Acropolis was located, which partly extended to the nearby hill. Although the first phase of construction of the structure was vaguely attributed to the Norman age, in fact it dates back to the Svevo period. The castle today features cylindrical towers, a ram tower and a doorway to an Angevin arch. It is currently home to the State Archaeological Museum.

Tolga Convent was founded in 1314 on the left bank of the Volga river, on the place of miraculous appearance of the Tolga Icon of the Mother of God. Against all odds of history, beginning with Mongol Yoke, Tolga Convent emerged from ruins and desolation and nowadays attracts thousands of pilgrims. The convent is located not far from Yaroslavl; on the left bank of the river Volga, at the place of confluence of a small river Tolgobolka (or Tolga) into Volga. White stone walls with high angle towers, cathedrals with multiple heads, glaring golden domes and crosses and a predominating massive bell-tower form one magnificent harmonious structure, captivating eyes of those travelling along Volga. The cedar grove has been planted here in the 16th century to commemorate the miraculous appearance of the icon after fire.

Ford's Theatre, at 511 10th Street NW, which had been used for various stage performances beginning in the 1860's, is most famous for being the site of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865. After being shot, the fatally wounded President was carried across the street to the Petersen House, where he died the next morning. The theatre and house are preserved together as Ford's Theatre National Historic Site.
The site was originally a house of worship, constructed in 1833 as the First Baptist Church of Washington. In 1861, after the congregation relocated to a newly built structure, John T. Ford bought the former church and renovated it into a theatre. He first called it Ford's Athenaeum. It was destroyed by fire in 1862, and was rebuilt, opening the following year as Ford's New Theatre.
Just five days after General Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House, Lincoln sat in the "State Box" watching Our American Cousin. A well-known actor, John Wilkes Booth, desperate to aid the dying Confederacy, stepped into the box and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. He then jumped onto the stage, and cried out "Sic semper tyrannis" just before escaping through the alley.
Following Lincoln’s death, the public demanded the closure of the Theatre. The United States Government seized the building, with Congress paying Ford $100,000 in compensation, and an order was issued forever prohibiting its use as a place of public amusement. The theatre was eventually taken over by the U.S. military and served as the home of the War Department records on the first floor, the Library of the Surgeon General's Office on the second floor, and the Army Medical Museum, during the period 1866-1887. In 1887 the medical uses were eliminated and it became a War Department clerk's office. The front part of the building collapsed on June 9, 1893, and killed 22 of those clerks, injuring another 68. The building was repaired and used as a government warehouse until 1931.
Along with the Peterson House, it was transferred from the Office of Public Buildings and Public Parks of the National Capital to the National Park Service in 1933 and sat unused until 1954, when Congress approved funds for restoration, which was completed in 1968. Since then, Ford's Theatre has been both an active theatre presenting plays and musicals and a museum containing portions of the Olroyd Collection of Lincolniana. On display are multiple items related to the assassination, including the Derringer pistol used to carry out the shooting, Booth's diary, Lincoln's coat and blood-stained pillow, and the original door to Lincoln's theatre box.

All visitors of Burano remain intrigued by the many colours and the colorful houses that are reflected into the green waters of channels, by the leaning bell tower, by the tranquility and the calmness with which the elderly ladies embroider original Burano lace by their tombolo (or lace pillow), while they are laughing and chatting in squares among them. It seems to be in paradise.
The fort was constructed on the site of an ancient watchtower and construction began in 1556 under the direction King John III who wished to have the mouth of the Tagus river sufficiently protected from invaders.
The fortress was used as a political prison both at the end of the Portuguese monarchy and during the Salazar dictatorship with prisoners held in awful conditions.
The structure was constructed primary for defence and lacks any artistic beauty with the solid walls constructed from drab stone and masonry plaster.
