We spent a couple of days moving over 5000 blocks by hand to the site and then onto the newly laid concrete floor slab.
Jack is fascinated by sea creatures lately.
He does a little gallop around the room every time he says "sea horse" and he's not quite figured out the difference between a star and a starfish. Everything star shaped is a starfish in his world. Oh, and he called me honey today and I melted.
Bishop Block - 1887
301-309 East First Street
This block was built in December 1887 for J.N. Bishop and was part of the
reconstruction of Sanford's commercial district following the great fire of September
1887. The Romanesque Revival building was constructed by Capt. J.O. Northesag of
New York and is distinguished by a low broad arch over the main entrance on First
Street. The facade is mostly original but a cone shaped roof over the corner is missing.
Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, elected officials and family unveiled the street sign for the 2300 block of South Street on Saturday, June 9th as ‘Lois Fernandez Way’. The recognized Ms. Fernandez’s life and legacy ahead of the ODUNDE Festival on Sunday, June 10th. Ms. Lois Fernandez founded ODUNDE as a street festival to celebrate African cultures more than four decades ago. ODUNDE 2018 will be the first festival since Ms. Fernandez passed in August 2017. Ms. Fernandez spent her life advocating for African culture, education, and working to improve quality of life for children and seniors.

On a day where we were running behind schedule due to several obstacles and hazards that we weren't expecting, we weren't exactly thrilled to see a herd of mountain goats stubbornly blocking the trail heading down from Triple Divide Pass.

This block is for Miss Nancy. She gave us lots of fun fabrics and invited us to add our own. She asked us to design an 8.5 inch block and border it in the solid fabric found in our kits. I decided to go with "stack and whack" approach combined with vertical sashing.

'The New Lodge is an urban,working-class Catholic community in Belfast,Northern Ireland,immediately to the north of city centre.
The landscape is dominated by seven large tower blocks.
The seven tower blocks sited on the former Victoria Barracks which dominate the skyline of the area have been given names in Irish as some locals disliked the British connotations of the original names like "Churchill House" although these remain in common use.
However,street names like Queens Parade, Victoria Barracks, Victoria Parade and Churchill Street have not been affected by this policy.'
