Matisse Inspires
Visitors to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' special exhibition "Matisse: Masterworks from The Baltimore Museum of Art" (February 23-May 18, 2014) drew inspiration from Henri Matisse’s paper-cutout technique he called “drawing with scissors." They created their own colorful cut paper postcards and penned messages people who inspire them.
To prevent livestock straying from the field and into the land on the other side of the railway line an old gate has been placed across the stream. Twigs, small branches and leaves build up and form a dam restricting the flow of water. One of the tasks was to clear the debris. February Make It Modern Bee Block for Renae. I went with block 2 from Elizabeth Hartman's tutorials, but my log cabin love chimed in, and I pieced some mini log cabins on the right. Let me know if that's not okay, and I'll redo or piece another block. :)
I don't know the name of this block but I found it at an antique store and had to have it. There were 3 more blocks but I had limited finances and picked the one that I liked the most.
This is marking where the road blocker was to be installed, although it was a bit bemusing at the time.

Man oh man, this block took half the morning to do. :) I'm pretty happy with it though, aside from one or two small issues.

A four-alarm fire along 2800 block of Lower Greenville Avenue in Dallas claimed Terilli's, Hurricane Grill, Mick's and the Greenville Bar & Grill on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The building they were housed in was built in the 1930's.
