Finally finished Block 1! Very happy with it and can't wait to start Block 2.

The wedge-shaped Horne Block was built in 1889. Located at Cordova & Richards Street.

The quilt block I made for the Etsy for Animals round robin quilt project.

To prevent livestock straying from the field and into the land on the other side of the railway line an old gate has been placed across the stream. Twigs, small branches and leaves build up and form a dam restricting the flow of water. One of the tasks was to clear the debris. I don't know the name of this block but I found it at an antique store and had to have it. There were 3 more blocks but I had limited finances and picked the one that I liked the most.

Block 14 at Rust en Vrede Wine Estate

This is marking where the road blocker was to be installed, although it was a bit bemusing at the time.

in progress. the block measures a bit more than two by four feet. I printed the completed block yesterday, so I'll post photos of the finished print soon.

And (oops) ignore my slipper in the corner there!!

Man oh man, this block took half the morning to do. :) I'm pretty happy with it though, aside from one or two small issues.

St Peter's church at Little Barrington is not a grand building but one of great charm and antiquity nonetheless, as witnessed to some striking Norman features, such as the elaborate south doorway in the porch (well preserved though with some restoration) and the easily missed tympanum on the north side (the remains of a blocked doorway in the corresponding position). Another curious feature of the exterior is the 18th century monument embedded in the east wall of the porch, unusual in both its setting and looking at least a century earlier.

Inside there is a single aisle in addition to the nave on the north side, the two separated by a fine late Norman/transitional arcade with two low and unusually wide arches, whilst about the walls are several painted texts from the 18th century.

So these were SUPPOSED to line up nicely in the middle. I'm TERRIBLE at all this spatial stuff (not so good for someone who likes to quilt!).

Alek - I know you wanted them to line up - sorry!!! I won't be offended if you don't use them (or use them on the back) or cut them back up or whatever...

Guess this block isn't my forte...

Corey Matthews (15), Jesse Martin (2) and Justin Curtis (10) did a great job getting through the line on this PAT attempt. Jesse got his hands on it for the block
