Taken on Monday 5th August 2013 at the end of Zakynthos Airport's runway 34, looking east towards the sunrise over the adjacent hills and mounts.
This magnolia was bursting out of its shell when I saw it last week. By now, it's probably gone through its whole cycle and been reduced to faded petals on the forest floor.
Silky Oak (Grevillea Robusta)

Lovely to see all the Silky Oak trees bursting with colour as they flower.
Wild Cherry blossom and leaves bursting from their spring-time buds.
Seen at the Knapp and Papermiil, a Worcestershire Wildlife Trust reserve, near Alfrick.
Keg Peak (I think) emerges from a mix of cloud and smoke that shroud the Roe Creek Valley below.
Fortunately the clouds and smoke opened up a little more as we headed towards Cypress Peak the next morning.
