This caught my eye whilst I was taking a butterfly shot in Hayling Island , not sure what it is. It appears it is an iris seed head.
as a bright welcome to Autumn 2021
and a happy beginning of Spring to all my Flickr friends in the southern half of our globe!

This is the last of my Autumn colored leaves series. My focus was on Japanese Maple (Momiji) leaves with light play in the image. Basically, I was looking for back lit situations, clean backgrounds, and bokeh. I chose the title Maple Burst for this image because of the bokeh balls on the left side of the frame. Hope you enjoyed the series!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day~!
A gush of molten lava at the Meradalir volcanic eruption in SW-Iceland. The eruption was declared over - at least temporarily - on 22 Aug 2022, after volcanic tremors had subsided and no visible molten lava was seen in the main crater. This picture was taken on the first day of the eruption, on 3 August. It is highly likely that further activity will happen in the coming months and years at this site, according to geologists, so I keep myself and my camera ready.

We gotta live with the choices we make
But if we get it wrong, we can't blame no one
When it's your sanity that's at stake
Please don't lose your light, you'll lose your mind
We got flaws in all of us
But that's what makes us glorious
Time goes by in front of us
So let's just make it glorious

My tree peony was covered in fat, pink buds, but while we were gone they bloomed, blossomed and died. Huge plant and so pretty, in my garden in North Dakota.
