Here is Black 5 45357 (Stirling) on a Callander train on 26/8/65- a service to be abandoned in a few weeks. This loco withdrawn Dec'66.
Spring has begun, so many girls show their best. Over the last week I saw many students in opaque tights, most of which are colorful!
I find myself dreaming of a magical garden where fairies seem to dance at night underneath the blooms.
As the moonlight ....gives it's eerie glow.... the mischievous pixies dance above all the flowers.
They sprinkle their magical dust to enchant the butterflies that visit during the day. The pixies adore their winged friends and they are always waiting to catch a ride.........So look carefully on those black swallowtail wings.......there just might be a fairy taking a ride!

Description
Black Drongo is a common bird of southern Asia normally found in the tropics. They are usually
found in open forests and similar lightly wooded habitats from southwest Iran through India and Sri Lanka east to southern China and Indonesia. These are aggressive and fearless birds, 28 cm in length, and will attack much larger species if their nest or young are threatened.
Identification
The Black Drongo has short legs and sits very upright whilst perched prominently, like a shrike. The adult Black Drongo is mainly glossy blue-black, although the wings are duller. The tail is long and deeply forked, and there is a white spot in front of the eye. Young birds are dull dark brown.
Diet
It eats insects and other small animals. It will attack much larger species if their nest or young are threatened. There are also some cases of Drongos preying on small birds. They have also been on occasion seen feeding on dead fish.
Nesting
Three or four eggs are laid in a light cup nest placed in a fork often on the bare outer branches of
trees.

A small series of pictures from the Basel zoo, I was only there on the afternoon.
Can someone please tell me which bird it is?
The crow is the common name for a group of about 27 passerine birds. Crows can be found anywhere in the world except for Antarctica and South America. They are considered to be the most intelligent of birds and are very adaptable.
All North American crows black. They also have a glossy sheen. The American Crow, also known as Common Crow, is the best known crow species there is. Like all North American crows they are black from the bill to the tip of their tails and have a glossy iridescent look to its feathers. The can grow up to 21â long and are identified by their fan-shaped tails. Their average lifespan is approximately 15 years in the wild. Male and female crows look are virtually indistinguishable except for their size since males are usually slightly larger than females.
Too rainy to go out and take pics...so nothing to post except barn cats.
I went to the farm to check on the cats yesterday. This black cat is the last one to trap. S/he has grown and filled out fast. I am hoping she isn't pregnant. Wish me luck as I try to trap her tomorrow. She is the most feral of them all....so not sure I'll be successful.
Have a relaxing Sunday everyone.
Not overly happy with these shots due to the light, but they are the first I have ever taken of this bird :-)

One of dozens of the BV's which all landed within 20' of the my truck....an uncropped shot. Being so close I was able to hear the interesting grunt sounds that they make....quite odd.
