A rare visitor to the garden and the first time caught on camera

A black drongo (Dicrurus macrocercus) in a fabulous pose under bright Sun, was searching for flying dragonflies nearby. Later on he was rewarded with one. The Green bokeh is for Water hyacinth and the blue one for the water. Those made a delightful backdrop. Pics was taken from Purbasthali, W.B., India.

Take nothing but photos , leave nothing but footprints !!!

The black squirrels (sometimes as many as three) are still regular visitors to the garden. This one seems to like its new perch!

Processed in Topaz DeNoise AI and then edited in Lightroom.

Amazingly, this image is not cropped! He was completely unconcerned with me and my car as he grazed alongside the road. He was probably the biggest black bear I've ever seen.

This small pier and dock projects out from just below the forward tower of the Castle, out into the Firth of Forth, facing right over towards Rosyth Naval Dockyard (two different historical eras of coastal defence on either side of the river)

Try to present the simple of black, white, and gray.

Whenever I visit the river/lagoon at Richmond, I hope to see these resident swans and I am usually not disappointed, but one time I took some friends from the UK there, they were nowhere in sight - very disappointed that day.

The black lemur (Eulemur macaco) is a species of lemur from the family Lemuridae. Like all lemurs, it is endemic to Madagascar. Originally, the species was thought to have two subspecies,[4] Eulemur macaco macaco and Eulemur macaco flavifrons, both of which were elevated to species status by Mittermeier et al. in 2008 to Eulemur macaco and Eulemur flavifrons respectively. The most startling difference between the two species is the eye colour; Eulemur flavifrons, the blue-eyed black lemur, has blue eyes and is the only primate other than humans to have blue eyes, while Eulemur macaco, the black lemur, has brown or orange eyes, and also has ear tufts.

Planckendael is a branch of the Antwerp Zoo, the 3rd largest zoo in Europe in terms of number of species.

Established in 1956 as a refuge for sick and injured animals from Antwerp Zoo, Planckendael later developed as an animal park of its own right, almost as good as the Antwerp Zoo.

Planckendael now has hundreds of animal species from all five continents, including Asian

lions, snow leopards, cheetahs, Indian rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras, Bonobo apes, kangaroos, koalas and red pandas. The park extends on 42 hectares (104 acres).

Actually, it's only one stilt, captured three times against a dull grey sky. So, there's been some digital doctoring here, but only one bird against a grey background wouldn't have been worth posting, so it was either take the bird to the doctor, or bury him...

Black Vultures occasionally roost high in a neighbor's pine tree, and they were in the area today. According to Audubon, the Black Vulture population has declined in parts of the Southeast, possibly due to loss of good nesting sites (large tree hollows).

There are more Turkey Vultures in the U.S. than Black Vultures, but Black Vultures outnumber Turkey Vultures in the Western Hemisphere.

Black Vultures lack the keen sense of smell that Turkey Vultures possess, so to find food these scavengers will soar above lower-flying Turkey Vultures then follow the Turkey Vultures to the decaying carcass of a food source.
