Can be very effective for awhile
but sooner or later it will come down with a big fall!
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
Taken awhile ago when I walked up to towards the far beach at Trestrignel. It was a long walk but worth it, even though the light was poor that day.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
It’s been awhile…
Back from a longtime hiatus - much longer than I expected.
There are still so many things going on in my life, so I won’t have the time to visit here regularly, but at least I‘ll try - Looking for the inspiration, your creativity and kindness that I have always found here.
And let me tell you: I have missed you all 😉

This is an image from awhile back of a photographer that got stuck out at high tide. It was not my intention to shoot this fellow photographer but he would not move and it was right in the middle of where I wanted to shoot. After awhile I gave up and tried to work him into the image. This image won the category of best adventure for a National Geographic Photo Contest which was published in the National Geographic December 2008 issue. I was very happy to win the category but I missed out on the grand prize of a trip to two to AFRICA by a bit. Anyways, I am posting this image as I am doing a story on my blog about EXTREME PHOTOGRAPHY and thought this was very fitting

I made this capture awhile back somewhere around my relatively new home-place in Stevensville, MT. Not in-town, not far out of town. Driving about, looking for images already made and suitable for framing. A bit of compositional tweaking here and there added some interest I thought. Well, we all think that right before we trip the shutter. That's what makes us generally confident photographers.
The fall was primarily over here, but not the splendor of the scene. I wish that I remembered where it was that I took this shot and, if so, I would revisit the same vantage point this autumn season in the height of the color. But remembering is not my specialty these days. Sweet remembrances are, all the way back to the early 1950's.
No problem, however. I will stumble on to another enchanting scene the next time I head out somewhere. Remembering exactly where might be overrated. And at least I got this one once. Once can be enough. Once is way better than nonce.
Sears Roebuck vintage sign not sure when they went to just Sears but it has been awhile, this was on the front of a junk shop now, found in North Carolina.
It's been awhile since I stuck the APS-C compatible HD DA 55-300PLM lens on the 'incompatible' FF K-1. I've been toying with the idea of selling it now that I have no dedicated APS-C Pentax camera, but then I am reminded of days like this, maybe I should hold onto this affordable $500 plastic thing (it's not half bad).
Happy feathery Friday y'all!
This is a picture I worked on awhile ago but never posted/blogged it for whatever reason. My Pose/Bathtub/Bloody BathWater is from The Pose Shop <3
Walking up the hillside trails of the Limahuli Garden and Preserve, the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Kauai, I came upon one of my favorite plants. The brightly colored Croton leaves are large and leathery.
It is a traditional medicinal plant in the region, its leaves and stem bark being used in the form of tea or pills for the treatment of diabetes, high blood cholesterol levels and gastrointestinal disturbances, as well as hepatic disturbances and weight loss.
Awhile ago I lost the sign in for this Flickr I was so upset because I had lost all my followers and the people I follow .
I created a new Flickr
> www.flickr.com/photos/kystakass/ and honestly it just didn't feel the same ...I lost a lot of my motivation and didn't blog much at all. I moved across the country and that was hard enough but then I had lost track of everything, needless to say It was a lot to deal with, anyway I found my sign on today and I'm back and so happy !
I want to say thank you to each and every person who continued to follow me even though I was gone so long. Now I can get back to adding to the group and posting <3
For awhile, I had great luck finding Green Herons in this area, especially catching frogs, but this one even came up with a catfish. Birds are a little more careful with their catfish, not a quick toss, good for the photographer's trigger finger and entertainment. One more tomorrow to fill out my Heron list.
The day was summer perfection. The flowers at the peak of blossom. Butterflies and bees blissfully flying in and out of the frame. (sadly no unicorns) A background bokeh to die for. Do you ever have those glorious moments you want to last forever?
Enjoy my hummers for awhile ......... :)
Thanks, everyone, for making this so special!
Don't you just love photography? :)
Haystack Rock is one of Oregon's most recognizable landmarks. At low tide, one can carefully explore the varied sea life clinging to rough surfaces.
The link below shares information about the Ochre Sea Star (Pisaster ochraceus). It is a commonly found sea star in the Pacific Ocean. Additionally is considered an important indicator for the health of the intertidal zone.
Many sea stars live to a minimal age of four years. P. ochraceus can live as long as twenty years.

Taken awhile ago but just came across this scan.
If I remember rightly its on Ilford SFX 200 with a red filter.
Once in awhile, it is freeing to paint what's in one's imagination. "The world today doesn't make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?"

I have been dipping into my older files for awhile now, I am getting close to the end of my stash! :)
One thing, then another has prevented me (including laziness) from going out and getting new shots, but mostly, the weather! I don't remember anytime in my past since I have been shooting that has prevented me from doing what I love best in life, but this has been some 'not so productive' months lately.
Hopefully things change soon, or I'll have to just post a blank image and say it's a Platypus or something really special, I am rather good at lying, so I may just resort to that. :)

Been awhile since I visited a sim for a picture,so I went exploring this quiet place called Bella's Lullaby. A small island with some old houses and only a few vivid aspen trees but rich with lushy grass and a wide view of skies.

My first post of 2016! The Brooklyn Bridge
It's been awhile. My longest drought since I caught the photography bug. I wish I knew exactly what it was, but I had fallen into a rut. Work had me so beaten down that I couldn’t even muster up the energy to get out and shoot. The irony is that photography is not only a hobby, it’s my outlet. Normally, it’s the thing that keeps me out of these doldrums, but it wasn’t working.
Today I got a text from a friend who has been encouraging me to get out of it. For some reason late in the day something clicked and I decided to go shoot. Didn’t want to go wondering around and get disappointed, so I went somewhere tried and true. Yep. You can’t mess up this classic no matter what time it is. :) It's great to be back!
It's been awhile since I played with water drop macros. I had a fun hour with these pretty flowers from my gardens yesterday afternoon.
"Hello folks this week we returned to "The Hill" and the Palm Spring loop. I've been here enough to know where I am. We're under our smoke tree at The Hill for morning break and I'm asking a valid question" We had a beautiful day in the low 70's and it got windy in the afternoon which was appreciated today."
This will be the last for awhile of the burrowing owlets . This little one had such a cute pose that I could not resist thinking He probably thinks he is real cute ! I think he is right. Have had great fun with them and it has been a privilege to see them living their life as they were created to . We will be returning to Africa next week with Natures Tapestry Photo Adventure Tours and are excited to see what is in store for us. It is always exciting to have people on the trip who have not experienced the wonders of Namibia. A true dream of a Lifetime !!!
Wishing you a great day and a very blessed one !!

Been awhile since I posted a black and white shot. I like to mix it up from time to time.
A view from near the top of Mt. Rainier's Pinnacle Trail.
I posted this image earlier in technicolor but thought it worked well in monochrome as well. Coior version in comments.
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start.
Wait awhile and it will come to you.

For awhile, she was dancing, and then she was explaining. Maybe she was talking about the way she envisioned the world being...or maybe she was discussing quantum mechanics...either way, she was using every molecule in her body and he was actively listening.

It's been awhile since I posted an SDL so figured I may as well toss one up taken back on December 27, 1996. It was a day somewhat like today weather wise but no danger of me shooting this lash on lunch hour today:). 582, 1755 and 1753 roll 70 cars of train LO-35 downhill towards Trout Lake
This photograph is waiting since awhile already on my hard drive to be published. Today I want to use it to share with you an apprehension what is worrying me, the faster and faster processed splitting of our society.
We all are a part of a community we are relying on. We are following up, more or less, the same aims, to care for us and the people who are important for us, as good as anyhow possible. We need each other because alone we are vulnerable and weak.
And still, deeper and wider trenches are traversing between individual groups and fractions, that where factitiously made. They are dividing what is supposed to be united.
Those, who force those partition are doing this to gain a power they would not have towards closed lines. They will not be willing to let off this power freely.
But the worst of all is what is happening in between these lines. The weakest among us, the community is responsible for, are paying the highest price for it, were broken and squeezed down.
Our unity and solidarity were two of the main reasons for mankind’s success. Every dark chapter in history was precede by massiv breakdowns. There were always a few who had their biggest success thereby and a uncountable number who had to face biggest misery.
I am far away from playing the moralizer. I just want to invite You to think, if we really want that.
Sie teilen, was in Wirklichkeit zusammen gehört.

Drinking from a fountain in my friend's yard in Turner Valley, Alberta. What a lot of fun it was to photograph these hummers. I will be off Flickr for awhile.
Many thanks for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
It's been awhile since I had time to take pictures. But I had two wonderful weeks of vacation in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Italy. I just came back, and I wanted to have a quick look at my 120Gb of picture taken during this trip. I am quite tired, I even think that the only reason I am not spleeping yet is because my bed is SOOOO far away from my computuer (which means ... 5 seconds walking/creeping tops).
However, here is one of the first view I took two weeks ago. Just on the left of these mountains stands the well known Neuschwanstein Castle (Not sure I'll post pictures of it, I am not sure to have manage to take good shots, I'll see at processing). However, the morning mood was very very nice. So a quiet shot to start ...
Posting it will give me the feeling of having done something, which will probably help me sleeping ... So good night everybody. Thanks for reading !!

It has been awhile since I photographed our little polka dot plant, so here is another effort: 8 flash shots focus stacked. Still could have used a few more shots to get it all in focus -- probably quite a few more, actually.

It's been awhile since I've been to this spot. It's a bit of a drive and a walk, and being a morning person a debate is always to be had about whether the sunset will be worth it...so I prevaricate and the sofa wins. But every now and then I'm aware that the cooling towers at the former Cottam Power station are under a stay of execution, being due for demolition. Only roosting bats have caused delay. So I made the effort and was rewarded by a strange sunset, dark clouds but colour on the horizon that didn't seem to light them up. Great for contrasting reflections though.
