It's been awhile since I posted a same day picture, but have one today. There's this abandoned house on the East side of I-5 not far South of Eugene, Oregon and I've often thought of photographing it. I pulled over not seeing the house, not even thinking about it. Instead I had pulled over to photograph a field with a tree line and mountains. I walked about 50 yards behind where I'd parked my truck and took some pictures. Then decided to walk up past my truck to see what was there. I saw the house, barely, and recognized it. Couldn't get close, barbed wire fence and blackberry plants were more than I was willing to deal with. So I took one picture, not really expecting to do anything with it. Then this evening as I was going over the not so many pictures I'd taken today, decided the old house shot had potential.

I took this awhile ago and forgot about it lol, finally uploading it! I don't really like this pic tbh :(

"Please, could you stay awhile to share my grief?

For its such a lovely day

To have to always feel this way

And the time that I will suffer less

Is when I never have to wake

Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever

Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever

Those who have seen the needles eye, now tread

Like a husk, from which all that was, now has fled

And the masks, that the monsters wear

To feed, upon their prey

Wandering stars for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever

Wandering stars for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever

(Always)

Doubled up inside

Take awhile to shed my grief

(Always)

Doubled up inside

Taunted, cruel

Wandering stars for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever

Wandering stars for whom it is reserved

The blackness of darkness forever" Kid Beyond - Wandering Star

Awhile back I posted the male Pin-tailed Whydah, a small non-native songbird that can occasionally be seen in SoCal. I mentioned he's got some real mid-air courtship moves I hoped to see one day. Today was the day. He danced and danced for her. While this image doesn't meet my standard of technical excellence, I couldn't resist this image for the story. Check how the female looks up to admire her suitor in his best form.

I went to the lake. It had been awhile, so I went even though it was raining and cold. The wind whipped through the trees and the waves were pounding the shore. The streetlights flooded the field with light, but the cloudy skies were otherwise dark. I was the only one there, the only one in a city of over 2 million people. It all seemed somehow surreal, and as I walked around I felt almost like a ghost, or like time had stopped for everything except for the weather, the waves and me.

This one took awhile! Spotted the wonderful hummer sticker, but then wanted to use an appropriate floral photo. So I searched my old ones until I found this from June of 2017. Cropped and used normal oil painting effect at 50%. Decorated with Adobe photoshop express watercolor sticker WA22. Finished with a fine blue border.

Song: "You Raise Me Up"

"When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary

When troubles come and my heart burdened be

Then, I am still and wait here in the silence

Until You come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains

You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas

I am strong, when I am on your shoulders

You raise me up to more than I can be"

Pictures I took awhile ago but didn't get around to editing till recently <3 Needless to say, I am feeling much better and completely believe in this caption!

Let's think about the past, the present and the future. Perspective is good for the heart, mind and soul.

Cades Cove

Tennessee

It was getting harder to breathe, despite the fresh air around her. The smell of rain that she adored was always lingering on the tip of her nostrils. Time could be equally cruel as much as a blessing.

"I'm getting tired trying to hold the umbrella up for you." it grumbled, muttering some gibberish while following her around the open field.

A tired old meow escaped the fluffy gray one cuddled into her hoody basket while she just hummed a tune, it was the rain's favorite tune. She recalled the excitement whenever the music played. Another sigh escaped her as she looked up in the clear sky, closing her eyes, remembering.

"You are taking the rain with you everywhere anyways!" It exclaimed, "It will always be a part of you."

"I know, it's just..." she sighed deeply, "I took for granted the short time we had together. I complained, I whined and I didn't treasure it enough. I thought the rain would never go away..." she admitted, "And now that it is going...will be gone, I am going to miss it dearly." she inhaled a breath of air, holding on to what seemed like the last few moments of rain till it will become but fragments of her memory.

It petted the cat that started purring before snoozing, "You will find the rain again, someday, when time permits. You know the rain loves you." It said, giving her hope while trying to lift the umbrella further over her head.

She didn't say anything for now, she just enjoyed the thoughts, the memories, the regret and the hope towards her rain that she also love with all her heart and soul. It was what helped make her who she was today after all.

P.S. I took the photo awhile back but I was stuck with some writer's block at the time that the photo was shelved. I finally took it out, dusted it and paired it with this story. My life is going into a new chapter and that's pretty much how I feel about it. Luckily, I have amazing people with me I am lucky to call friends who are there when I need them the most without me asking.

Ameya, despite our crazy time zone, you always poke me and leave me hugs. They mean a lot to me even if we do not get to talk longer because of how weird I could be out running errands or sleeping.

Sapphy, for always supporting me through anything I do and leaving me messages, the fact you restarted taking photos again just because of Lightning Bolt means a lot to me.

Last few days were rough but you all helped me through it and I am going to keep pushing on! Thank you so much!

Been awhile since this got some wrist time. I took it off the jubilee and put on a nato to switch it up.

It's been awhile since I've done something like this - hope ya'll enjoy! Check out my blog for better quality full images and style credits.

2025 - 207

Happy Caturday 2025 :-)

Heya, it's been awhile! I'm returning from a very long break. A lot has changed since my time away, it has been fun trying out all the mods and new bodies. I don't have a place to call my own yet, so for the time being I have been enjoying the wonders of the nomad life. I spend my free time exploring sims, shopping and taking photos. you can join me on twitter where I'll be posting most of my findings.

It's been awhile

Since I couldn't

Hold my head up high

And it's been awhile

Since I first saw you

And it's been awhile

Since I could stand

On my own two feet again

And it's been awhile

Since I could call you

And all the things I can't remember

As fucked up as it all may seem

The consequences that are rendered

I stretch myself beyond my means

Been awhile, time for a black and white image.

A sunrise shot of one of the most iconic peaks in Idaho's Sawtooth Range. Stanley Lake below.

Thanks for taking a look!

Took this image awhile ago; just another look and edit here. Thanks for your appreciation, Gail

Took me awhile to sneak up on this guy, but I like the end result. I sometimes feel that I get so caught up in birding that I fail to stop and appreciate things like this bluebird. Photography is a really good solution in this case.

Yes, it's been awhile since I've posted. Truth be told, I hardly picked up my camera last year. I got so burnt out on photographing flowers that I lost interest in photography as a whole. Even sold some of my equipment. Slowly getting back into it with a 52 week project in a private Facebook group. Hopefully the variety of that will help.

Not sure how many flower photos you'll see going forward though. But I do still love to look at the ones others take. I just personally want to photograph different things right now.

My friend and I managed to capture the comet Neowise last year as it was setting, so we hung out awhile longer and did a little Milk work. In Joshua Tree National Park, with a couple of those namesake Joshuas at the right. An unforgettable evening.

Been racking my brain trying to remember just where we found this. I've had this photo for awhile now. I regret that I didn't name it like I have most of my others.... I believe it was near Rocky Mount, NC.

It has been awhile since I have seen one of these SD9043MAC's in action. On May 6, 2023, CP 3747 leads a southbound slot train as it heads for BC for reloading.

The 3747 is an ex-UP unit that, as you can see, hasn't been sent for a proper repaint. Who knows if it ever will.

Hi! Its been awhile! I almost didn't come back but there is just something about Flickr I have always loved...the people and the platform. So here I am, sharing an image I took on a recent trip to Ottawa. This is definitely not my typical image but soon as I walked by, I knew I had to shoot. I was unfortunately constrained by space and shot portrait. I never shoot this way but I think it turned out alright!

I hope everyone has been doing well!! Fill me in!! I hope to catch up a little bit and keep popping in to share my world and see a bit of yours.

Take care all....excited to see what you've all been posting!

Been messin' around with this for awhile. The main photo is from this past October when Kim and I were going down fairly often to the Fourth of July Campground checking on the colors of the hardwoods. We loved the glistening of the tall grasses. The moon goes back to 2011. And the hot air balloons go back to last year also, but in May. I only have photos of one white balloon!

The black and white converting took place in Lr for each component. Then things were brought together in Ps. Lots of little things done with masking and sliding opacities.

Then back in Lr for split toning. Then back into Ps for adding a bit of noise/grain to the sky to eliminate a tiny bit of banding that had occurred. And now here!

I hope everyone has been having a stupendous sliders sunday!

For awhile now, I have been a great admirer of a certain person who posts on a fashion blog that I visit. He always does the most amazing things..deceptively simple, wondrous combinations of clothing and hair, and the Mesh head..perfection!

I would list his name and flickr, to share the glory of his self styled..um..Style..with everyone, but like Wayne and Garth said..We are not Worthy.

Instead, I tried, with miserable success, to recreate something with the barest smidgen of His talent, his vision.

I feel I failed, but perhaps the journey is more important than the destination.

Well, I can still provide color for awhile longer, and I can think of nothing better than this genuine California spring flower.

I'm beginning to need color as much as the rest. We're due for another storm next week, and things are looking just this side of bleak. At least Walnut Creek, won't have 70 feet of snow.

Trifolium ciliolatum is a species of clover known by the common name foothill clover. It is native to western North America from Washington to Baja California. (It is found on the flanks of Mt. Diablo.)

It is a common plant of many regions, including disturbed habitat. I don't know what it is about clover that I've always liked, but as with thistle, it attracts bees and butterflies, is widely spread, and very colorful.

It is an annual herb growing erect in form, with hairless herbage. The leaves are made up of toothed oval leaflets and have bristle-tipped stipules. The inflorescence is a head of flowers 1 or 2 centimeters wide, the flowers often spreading out or drooping.

For awhile there, we could not attract many hummers into our backyard. It may have been due to all the heavy forest fire smoke that we have been having here. You have probably all heard about the terrible forest fires in Western Oregon right? Well we are kind of in the thick of it, but thank goodness we have not had to evacuate. At least not yet!

Anyway, the hummers are back and coming into our feeder and I consider that a little blessing. I do love watching them and photographing them. We, for awhile, were only attracting females, but as you see, here is a beautiful Anna's male hummer. Isn't he beautiful!

I hope you are all staying well my dear friends and especially the ones that are impacted by all these horrible fires out west here!

No use of my hummer image in any from without my permission!

Thank you kindly!

Once in awhile it snow's in Victoria BC Canada, the capital of our province and the city with the mildest climate in Canada. I couldn't resist catching the dramatic sunrise in the morning traffic.

With big curious eyes she wanders around. Trying to see more than what is really seen. Looking deeper can be tiring at times so it's good to close your eyes.

Rest for awhile and leave the big eyes to someone else. ;)

Whew, this took awhile! Started with an old photo of mine from September of 2018. Used normal oil painting effect at 60%, then Autumn effect to darken corners. Then used Adobe photoshop express sparkles effect SP15 at only about 33% strength so original photo could bleed through. Finished with a fine blue border.

Hi everyone, first time posting in awhile. I just took a social media break. What I found out is that Flickr was taking up way too much of my time and I wasn't getting important things done because of it. So I made a decision that I am only faving peoples images rather than commenting. I want to show that I am still appreciating your work even though I don't have the time to comment. If I do comment it means that your image is really loved by me and intrigued me a great deal. I will understand if you drop me because I can't reciprocate a comment in kind. So I just wanted to be honest and my contacts can make their decisions. This is disappointing for me as I wish there were more hours in the day.

The past month fungi have popped up everywhere around here. I have never seen this many and I think I photographed more fungi this month than in my entire life. So this colorful mushroom is the first of many to come.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Taxi Stand unusual in the rural South to find one, this is in a small town and has been around for awhile, the building is just a bit shabby, shot in North Carolina.
