This railtrack scale is located at Kepa Zawadowska in Warsaw enroute to the EC Siekierki heat- and powerplant. It is built into the track and measures the weight of 4-axle cars, which bring coal to EC Siekierki. The speed at the scale must be reduced to 3 to 5 km/h max. to allow proper operation. The length of the measuring track is exactly to match the Eaos/Eas railcars' length.

Frederick Grinnell was born in 1836 at new bedford, massachusetts, usa. in 1855, he graduated from rensselaer polytechnic institute. inventor, engineer, and industrialist, grinnell was the creator of the first practical automatic fire sprinkler, which made an enormous contribution to fire safety. earlier in his career, he was draftsman, construction engineer, and manager for various railroad manufacturers. he designed and oversaw construction of more than 100 locomotives. in 1869 he purchased a controlling interest in a company that manufactured fire-extinguishing apparatus. grinnell licensed a sprinkler device patented by henry s. parmalee, then worked to improve the invention, and in 1881 patented the automatic sprinkler that bears his name. he continued to improve the device and in 1890 invented the glass disc sprinkler, essentially the same as that in use today. such sprinklers are called le grinnells in france. he secured some 40 distinct patents for improvements on his sprinklers and invented a dry pipe valve and automatic fire-alarm system as well. in 1892, grinnell organized the general fire extinguisher co., an amalgamation of several smaller companies, which became the foremost organization in its field of manufacture. grinnell died in 1905 in his home town of new bedford

Porcelain enamel and chrome
1924
Edison Electric Appliance Co., Inc., New York, Chicago, and Ontario, California.
This six-burner electric stove's nearly pristine white porcelain enamel finish is embellished with chrome details, and the six burners and their black Bakelite control knobs are all the original. The stove has two ovens on the right side, each with its own dial control. Above the ovens is a bread warmer with a roll-up door, with a glass knob matching the one on the pull-out crumb tray below the burners. The in-and-out curves of the four cabriole legs form a study-yet-airy support for the heavy top half of the stove.
The donor purchased the stove from the Red Cross in Portland, Maine, in the early 1980s. The Red Cross last used it for disaster relief in late October 1947, when out-of-control forest fires in southern and coastal Maine burned over 200,000 acres, leveling nine communities and destroying over 1,000 houses.
