Very likely the first time I have seen a BMW 2002 in the flesh. At least since I have been car spotting.
Saw this in North Van while visiting a friend.
It was rusty but a true survivor.
In 2012, the Shoppers Drug Mart store at Preston Crossing in Saskatoon unexpectedly closed. Since its closure, it is now being turned into a new Mark's store, or becoming part of an expanded Mark's store. What's going to happen is unclear. However, what will happen is that these doors will likely be removed. The automatic sliding doors inside the store have since been removed.

Black dial with rose gold tone and white hands and arabic numerals. Luminous. 18k rose gold ionplated stainless steel tachymeter bezel. Exhibition case back. Water resistant to 100 meters.
The frame said Standard but the 2 speed torpedo hub (with hub brake) said Automatic.. This crate of eggs had been carried back from town with not one smashed en route. Testament to the quality of the rear suspension of this particular bike.
The Rexall store at the College Park Mall expanded in recent years and now has a new front entrance. Despite all these years, I still didn't take pictures of their automatic doors until today. Their original entrance consisted of doors that were powered by Gyro Tech equipment. These newer doors look like doors from Horton Automatics.
This automatic instrument plays piano and violin pieces for a nickel.

The automatic writing project started out as an activity among friends and locals. I would write a line someone else would write a line and so on... Then people would overhear us and ask if they could participate and write something too (which surprised me) of course I said "yes!" At that point I realized that lots of people have something to say. I started asking strangers to add entries, then I graduated to offering people $1.00 to participate, some people do not accept the dollar and some pay me a $1.00 (paying it forward). It's becoming quite a lovely, surprising and compelling project. People from many walks of life are participating: homeless, a news reporter, academics, students, doctors, drug addicts, lawyers, tourists etc... People have written things in my journal that they'd never say out loud, not to anyone. Some of it's so sad, some intriguing, hilarious and so on... At the end of the day, every one of these people understand that their entries are being uploaded to the internet and are comforted in knowing that they will be heard. I have no idea where this is going, but it's going just fine! FYI: English is not everyone's first language here. I will be illustrating the book/journal after the text is done. I hope that everyone who reads these entries learns something about people, mostly that we never know what someone else is going through.

Inside the standby ventilation plant room.
Paddock was built at the start of the 2nd World War below the Post Office Research Station in Dollis Hill. The purpose of the two level citadel was to act as a standby to the Cabinet War Rooms in Whitehall. The bunker became operational in 1940 with the War Cabinet meeting there on 3rd October.
Churchill did not like the new bunker and by the autumn of 1943 the standby cabinet war rooms were relocated to the North Rotunda in Marsham Street, close to Whitehall; Paddock was abandoned the following year.
During the cold war, Paddock was suggested as a replacement for the North London Group War Room at Partingdale Lane, Mill Hill but this was rejected by the GLC. It was also, along with Station Z at Harrow, suggested as the Main Control Centre for the whole of London with the 4 (later 5) Group Controls reporting to it. The idea of 1 central control was never adopted and the upper floor at Paddock was relegated to a Post Office social club.
Following closure of Post Office Research Station, in the mid 1990's the site was sold to a property developer who converted the Research Station into luxury flats with a new housing estate on the rest of the site. The single storey surface building above Paddock was demolished but the citadel, which has local authority listing was untouched and two access points were retained one an unobtrusive steel door in a wall between two houses and the other a brick blockhouse beside the road which also houses a small electricity sub station. The site has now been handed over to a housing association.
