When the light is low automatic focus is hindered due to a lack of contrast. This image needed a great deal of help and fortunately my lens gives me appropriate information. Given the f-stop, it informs me of the distance and therefore the depth of field required. The camera tells me the light levels and therefore the neutral density filters needed; in this case 4. Beyond automatic, this is where it gets to be a lot of fun.
Now unplated, of course, but it was still in use as a taxi until 2018 by the look of the MOT records (six monthly intervals for hackney carriages). An impressive 343k on the odometer.
I always felt Metrocabs looked shonky brand new, and up until reasonably recently the survivors were usually quite rough.
Dynaflow was the trademarked name for a type of automatic transmission developed and built by General Motors Buick Motor Division from late 1947 to mid-1963..

This is one of the oldest cameras you can use with modern, still being produced, film. Because this camera is one early variant of the Kodak No.2 Brownie, which introduced to the World the 120 format.
It's a more complex model of the Brownie, the No.2 Folding Brownie model A, and it's interesting because still retains most of the structure in wood. The model A was produced from 1904 to 1907, but with that Brownie Automatic shutter only to 1905. So this camera is about 113 years old right now. And apparently still in working order!

Due to a flub reading the exposure chart, this photo was way overexposed. What we see was rescued during the scan. It's seriously broken, but I like the funk the scanner found. Exposure experiments continue....
I took this shot about an hour ago while dog walking. Used my new phone camera (Moto G) and by the time I got back it was already on my computer and (something) had generated an artistic interpretation complete with border!

And your hearts like an engine.
I die with every beat
You're automatic,
And your voice is electric.
No do I still believe...?"
There's no real love in you.
