The season's almost over, as soon the skies will be too light all day and night for the northern lights to be visible, but we're having a fantastic last week of displays!

Early morn auroras out my front door....lots of stars and light to share

Highway 21 between Kilpisjärvi and Tornia is also known as "the higway of the auroras". This time pitstop in the middle of the night was really worth it.

Taken February 2022.

Wednesday evening brought a wonderful display of nature to may one who had a good view. This was around 9pm, it faded after this and we called it quits about midnight.

Kingdom Come.

An archive shot from end of last season, Ulsfjord, Northern Norway March 11th 2011.

This is the type of shot some fellow landscape photographers of mine would characterize as a "brain damaged composition" ;) -

Still, no time to think composition here, more about just documenting the majestic phenomenon!

I can feel I am getting so ready now for upcoming aurora season!

The Aurora Borealis went off this morning lighting up the sky behind Cypress & Grouse Mountain while colouring the waters of English Bay. I jumped out for a moment with the camera, but remembered that the tripod was in the car I had not at home and a little child sleeping inside. - But things happened fast and I had the opportunity to practice steady grip techniques - leening on a pole, or wall, or lying flat on the belly on the ground - brrrrrrr that was cold.

Kálfatjörn, Vogar á Vatnsleysuströnd. Lights started to go the right way. But next time, since this eruption seems to be dying out, I need to head further south to get south of the eruption to be able to face northwards and have a more active aurora dance.

I was very lucky to be able to witness these northern lights, that was an awesome spectacle, the first time I saw any in my life. I was blown away and also was happy to see that I took decent photos.

Northern lights in Switzerland are extremely rare, but due to a strong solar activity, they were visible here.

Its pretty hard finding your way in the dark but i do have a headlamp so that helps alot and when shooting this night i found a tiny tiny mouse looking at me :) it soon crawled in between the rocks to hide from me .

i just got another image published in Camerapixo new issue Visual Connection :) you can go over there and look at the new issue onlinehttp://camerapixo.com/publications?type=recently-published

Just happen to have images in both the issues Nature and Visual Connection :)

Sometimes northern lights can be rather well-placed to give the impression of something completely different...
