Norddeutschland, Sonnensturm G-4. Hier sind die Gelbtöne fast ins Grün gegangen. Ich vermute, dass zu diesem Zeitpunkt die Stärke des Polarlichts am höchsten war.

The Sky is on FIRE!

North East Ohio.

In Observatory Park, Geauga county parks.

A 13 panel Panoramic.

It is not often we get decent displays of auroras at 45 degrees latitude, but last night was an exception. A strong G3 geomagnetic storm irrupted over the Ottawa River.

I got a little bit of clear sky Sunday night so I went out hoping to see and possibly get a picture of the aurora borealis. I didn't see this directly but I got one frame of what looks like a light. Maybe it was a space laser. This is a three frame animation that shows a green hazy spot, a commercial aircraft and maybe a satellite. This was less that two minutes in real time.

This is an edit from a video I posted earlier today.

Recent intense solar storms produced dazzling display of Northern Lights that were visible as far south as Toronto, Canada. I missed the first one in May and in between a few minor ones. This time I drove an hour north of Toronto, stood by the side of wide-open farm fields and enjoyed the show. The colour green comes from excited Oxygen molecules hit by fast moving electrons whereas red is from excited Nitrogen molecules in the upper atmosphere. Then there are blue and purple which are rare, plus the night sky doesn't render them well. The other colours are mostly mixture of these major colours.

Aurora Borealis at Harrington State Park

Shot this last winter ,seem to have endless images i haven´t even looked at. Im waiting for the right time to get out and chase the lights ,they are already out but i seem to be to busy or lazy to get out late at night :) but im getting there and looking over older images seems to be doing the trick.

Kvaløya in Tromsø, Norway. It was a great night with lots of aurora at the sky, in many different colors. A great night.

Going through a few old photos and found these 2 northern lights photos that I hadn't downloaded.

On New Years Eve I did a short photowalk around our cabin. The northern light and the full moon was dancing in the sky. Yet another spectacular show in sky. I simply love North of Norway <3

Aurora Borealis from Southern Idaho - I never thought I'd see the day (or night) when I was able to see the Northern Lights. It's too bad they weren't as vibrant to the naked eye but leaving the shutter open for a while produced magic.

From Southern BC, Canada. Taken February 26, 2023

Taken from the outskirts of Tackley, North Oxfordshire, UK during a geomagnetic storm

Taken with a Canon 1100D with 18-55mm lens

A single capture of the aurora explosion earlier this month. Minimally edited. It was incredibly bright, colorful and dynamic. Bottom right corner of the frame shows the half moon and venus below it.
