another attempt at this very frustrating project that I have embarked on. The editing is difficult to say the least.............well for me it is!
Think I am also under exposing by quite a bit so will try for a bit longer next time.
16 x 105 second exposures at ISO 800
5 darks 5 bias and 5 flats
unmodded Canon 5d iii on a 400mm f2.8 lens with 2 x converter. Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro mount
Almost exactly 3 years ago I attempted to head up Kinder to see the Downfall frozen over, I got part way up and was advised by a very kind member of KMRT not to continue due to the conditions. Slightly disheartened, I took their advice and turned back chatting to them on the way back down.
On Sunday, I finally returned in the snow to see the Downfall iced over. I've got to admit my mind has been changed about Kinder, normally I'm not a fan as it appears very bleak, however, in a blanket of snow, Kinder Reservoir is now easily my favourite view in the Peak District!
After admiring the view towards the reservoir for a while, I headed towards the downfall with a specific shot in mind. My shot didn't materialise due to the large amounts of untrodden snow leading up to the waterfall (in which I didn't want to disturb as it looked beautiful) so I climbed above to take a shot of the reservoir through the downfall with some lovely light kissing the surface of the snow!
I can't wait to head back up here again with snow, even if I do have to wait a whole year!

This is my first attempt to shoot food from above, I got a Speedlite Flash borrowed and was experimenting with it.
Since I never use flash to shoot food and I don't own a tripod that has an horizontal arm It's very difficult for me to shoot from above, but I kinda liked the result... Maybe it's time I bought a dedicated flash for myself.
My first attempt at HDR... any good ???
I have downloaded the trail version of Photomatix....to try it out for awhile to see if I like it or not...sorry for the watermarks on the photos but this is just a test using HDR....I did take many bracketed photos over the weekend as the clouds and lights seemed to be the perfect chance to test this out....
This is a three exposure HDR image.
Do you like this version ??? I may invest in the program a little bit down the road..
High Dynamic Range (HDR) image using three photographs of the same scene taken under different exposures, and how to process the HDR image in order to reveal its details in highlights and shadows.
Auto-Exposure Bracketing (AEB), select the Continuous Shooting mode, make sure the camera is set to Aperture Priority, and select an exposure increment of +/-2.
I’ve seen many people attempt to portray Haruno Sakura from Naruto. And in my *ehem* unfortunate experience, they either don’t get it right or they’re just trying to hard.
Sakura is a fun character to cosplay. She’s a headstrong, very intelligent, and if she doesn’t get her way, you better run.
How could Sasuke resist such a cute girl? Beauty and brains, and still he prefers revenge…
I love her dress and her hair… Her eyes look like they can pierce your soul… But I begin to wonder…
This is my second attempt to do a long exposure of the devotees at the Erawan shrine. I am not sure that it is better than last year's attempt.

Februayr 2019
Well I've had one of the most soul-destroying photography days for ages...
Seem to be having focus problems again - this time with manual focus (where the focus seems drift). Took nearly 1000 shots today playing with water splashes and found the vast majority were not even close to sharp. This is one of the better ones.
Edited in Silver Efex Pro 2. Silly border added in PSE8 to cheer myself up. ;)
It was an attempt to create a long exposure in the mid-day using cheap welding protection glass in front of the lens as an ND filter.
Trouble is, the glass has uneven density thus this weird looking anomaly on the right of the frame. It was DIN 13, which I googled to be -16 EV's and I almost had it exposed correctly.
Another issue I had taking this one was a very strong wind and I was sure in 20 minutes of exposing it'll smudge everything, yet Linhof proved to be a tough box to swing around and I'm pretty happy with the texture on that small chapel on the island, given the fact that on a top of the wind I had a piece of a 0.75$ worth welding glass between the object and Nikkor-W.
On a technical note:
Linhof Technika III, Nikkor-W 5.6/135mm.
Adox CHS 100, shot at f/8&1/2, 20 minutes exposed, stand developed in Rodinal 1+75 for 1 hour at 20C (roughly or at least in the beginning)
My first attempt at a pano shot taken from the rocks on an outgoing tide at Point Cartwright. i was hoping for a "magical" sunset but it didn't quite happen.
The first attempt in this case was light painting a foreground object with the night sky as a backdrop.
I'm in total awe whenever I get outside the city and see all the starts in the sky. My goal this past summer was to get more into night sky photography, but family circumstances made it difficult.
In any case, last Friday evening the skies were clear and the moon set to rise about 1AM, so I headed outside the city and found my favourite old combine.
I like the shot, but I think I gained more from it as a learning experience such as:
1. It's harder than I thought to compose a shot through the viewfinder in darkness even with a flashlight hitting the subject. Next time I'll try Live View.
2. This time of year it gets really cold fast on the open prairies even with just a light wind. I wasn't as patient to get things setup or make adjustments.
3. The backroads change a lot when it's dark. I thought I knew the way to this old combine pretty well, but doubted myself a lot as I was driving towards it. Nothing looked familiar in the dark.
4. I was surprised how many lights were visible in the scene I was trying to capture, but that is impossible to know in the day time when scouting.
In any case, I'll try again and see if I can learn from this one.
Thanks for looking.
One of the first tries with my new budget studio flash triggered via sync cable.
Not quite happy yet.

Hier einer der Versuche mit meinem neuen, günstigen Studioblitz.
So richtig glücklich bin ich damit noch nicht, ich konnte zwar eine kleine Blende wählen, doch die Bewegung ist noch nicht so recht eingefroren.
First Attempt with the new Luminar NEO AI.

A Flickr Friend inspired me to attempt my first Beef Bourguignon, and I promised him that I'd post of photo. I'd post a link to his account, but his screen name is in Chinese looking symbols, so I'm not sure how to do it.
His looked like it came out much better than mine, but I must say that it was delicious.
London United + Quality Line RATP Group BE37038 (BE38) LJ18FLB + LT1000 LTZ1000 (LTZ2200) and DXE30285 (DXE85) SK68LXS all stand next to British Airways Concorde G-BBDG for a photoshoot at Brooklands Museum.
Though unfortunately, this wasn't allowed by Brooklands Museum officials due to blocking people that were exiting the Concorde and blocking shuttle route 462 bus services that needs to exit out of the museum.
This my first attempt using the Expansion technique. I can't wait to do more and perfect it. I shot this image with my 50MM and there is 6 photos in here.
I've always been infatuated with sirens. They are so mysterious, sexy and dangerous. Men just can't keep they're eyes off of them. So I decided to make my siren come to life. A very simple image that I fell in love with
The first attempt to catch today's 6K30 was in vain as it decided to pop into most 'lay-bys' as it moved down the WCML.
Nonetheless, still running 45 early (in comparrison to 97 and 162 the previous two days), 56113 passes Woodacre, near Garstang, with the 6K30 Carlisle New Yard to Pinnox Branch Esso Sidings on 10 Nov 21.
For the last two weekends, due to engineering works at Leuchars, the Ladybank to Hilton junction line has been very busy with diversions including the LNER Azumas. Here in challenging conditions, yes, challenging, with the church towering above, an LNER Azuma working a Doncaster to Aberdeen service passes Collessie. I tried this last weekend in identical conditions and with the low and strong sun, the Azuma was a complete white out, so, stopping down a stop and a half this time saved the day. Collessie church is no longer a place of worship and is to be converted into a house, although the surrounding graveyard is still in use!! The interior of the church was used in the 1990's STV remake of Doctor Finlay.
First attempt on Lucia's faceup due to the winter weather. It's decent for now, but the gloss ruined her lips. And perhaps her eyelashes would look better in a dark brown instead?
My first photo shoot with the rebel and I truly love how the pics turned out.
A favorite local store of mine closed today, I'm going to miss it terribly. The wood pieces and the items used in the background are all from that store. :'(
My first attempt at weaving a Bridget Cross.
This corn figure is made to celebrate the Irish saint / goddess Bridget and the festival of Imbolc.
The dunnock (Prunella modularis) is a small passerine, or perching bird, found throughout temperate Europe and into Asian Russia. Dunnocks have also been successfully introduced into New Zealand. It is by far the most widespread member of the accentor family; most other accentors are limited to mountain habitats. Other common names of the dunnock include: hedge accentor, hedge sparrow or hedge warbler.
