Attempt #2 shoot on strawberry drops. To my surprise, my wife still hasn't finished the strawberries in the fridge, and I'm taking advantage of it to try it on a different shaped vase, and also a box cover as the background instead of my black poster board. Comparing this with the old one side by side, this really puts the old one to shame.

I still find things to improve, and I most likely need a 3rd and 4th source of lighting to get this right. I might also need a lint free cloth to clean up between attempts... but for now, I'm pretty happy with the results. Next time i'll try another fruit... *grin*

Attempting to modify a photo to look like a painting

Every week-evening, Rotterdam Rail Feeding brings a train from the DOW Chemical factory in Terneuzen to the Combinant terminal in Antwerp. Between Terneuzen and Gent the train usually runs early - very a-typical for a freight train. Being an hour early is no luxury, and even then you can't be sure if it has already passed or not. My first attempt to make a photo of this train was a succesfull one. I didn't know yet about it riding before hour; I was just plain lucky that today it rode right on time!

A few days ago I had a new lens is a Zenitar 16mm. Yesterday I managed to test it in martial terms: wide angle, sharpness gorgeous

this young eagle made a living chasing the young osprey fledglings and stealing their catch. this adult had no problem keeping his catch

This guy is sick of waiting to finally transform himself into a butterfly and be able to fly. Using some balloons he tries to take off from the ground and see the world from above ...

But obviously he miscalculated the correct size and number of balloons to get into the air. Try again or keep on waiting buddy! ;-)

Juvenile Green heron not sure about taking off

My attempt at a blurred photo for Macro Monday. A spinning jack. I was away and took this quickly because I didn't have much time. I would have liked to give it more time to get a better image. Oh well! HMM everyone.

Another attempt at pulling out the mineral deposit colors on the Moon's surface. If you get a decent enough image, you can tease out its colors by using saturation layers in Photoshop.

The blue areas are rich with ilmenite, containing iron, titanium, and oxygen. Orange and purple-ish areas contain smaller amounts of titanium and iron. Whiter areas are overexposed, sunlit areas.

This Great Blue Heron just made an attempt at a fish, diving right into the water. Here it's making some quick moves after it picked itself up from the water.

AKA Indian Peafowl. There were about 3 peacocks roaming free about the organic farm. This male peacock here is taking a very rare flight attempt.

The eagle was displaying his tail in an attempt to threaten a Martial Eagle that had just landed near by.

I hold my hand up and freely admit that Eiona Roberts is the inspiration here. Mind you my lunar attempt is feeble in comparison to hers! I've always loved the night sky ( just as I love anything water/flower/wildlife/landscape/sky I think you get my drift!) Please don't look any closer at the image as the resolution isn't good enough!

Weazel

Whilst attempting to photograph Wheatears on Holcombe hill I was treated to a view of this creature weaving in and out of the rocks of a dry stone wall. I made a squeaking sound to attract its attention and the animal came back for an investigation. My camera was set with ' focus search off' so I could not get immediate focus when the animal was looking straight at me:( After I was able to get a lock on, the animal turned its head slightly but I'm still happy with the result especially since all previous attempts at stoats and weasels have been failures.

alright so at like two in the morning last night i found a cool light and i got my step sister to take photo's of me doing random light stuff. we did the whole alphabet but i might just make one big image of them all.

this is my first attempt at light painting and i think it turned out alright. give me your thoughts.

My attempt at painting A painting The Slaughters Country Inn, in Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire, England, using Photoshop!

Lower Slaughter is a village in the English county of Gloucestershire, located in the Cotswold district, 4 miles (6.4 km) south west of the town of Stow-on-the-Wold. The village is built on both banks of the River Eye, which also flows through Upper Slaughter. At the west end of the village there is a 19th-century water mill with an undershot waterwheel and a chimney for additional steam power. There is a ford where the river widens in the village and several small stone footbridges join the two sides of the community. While the mill is built of red brick most of the 16th and 17th century homes in the village use Cotswold sandstone and are adorned with mullioned windows and often with other embellishments such as projecting gables. Records exist showing that Lower Slaughter has been inhabited for over 1000 years. The Domesday Book entry has the village name as “Sclostre”. It further notes that in 1066 and 1086 that the manor was in the sheriff's hands. Lower Slaughter Manor, a Grade-II listed 17th-century house, was granted to Sir George Whitmore in 1611 and remained in his family until 1964. The 13th century Anglican parish church is dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin. Much of the current structure was built in 1866; however, the spire and peal of six bells was recently restored. In May 2013 it was reported in the national news that the Parish Council were fiercely opposed to the presence of an icebox tricycle selling ice creams for seven days a week, six months of the year, citing that the trading times were excessive, increased footfall would prevent the grass from growing and that children could climb on the trike and fall into the nearby river.

The Slaughters Country Inn is privately owned and offers a relaxed ambience, a style that is sympathetically balanced between the original features of a 17th Century building and contemporary design. The blend of old and new creates the perfect retreat in a beautiful country location

There was someone who I thought was just reading a novel when I arrived at the top of the Tor.

It turned out he was probably researching how to free climb without ropes as this was about as far as he got before the light started to fade.

Anyone visiting the Lake District should take a trip up to the stones, its very easy to get to and the view will take your breath away.

The circle was probably constructed around 3200 BC (Late Neolithic/Early Bronze-Age), making it one of the earliest stone circles in Britain and possibly in Europe.
