Kind of always feel like I am running out of time...Took these pics when I finally got home tonight...still in my work clothes - Wanted to have a go at a bit cloning but don't really think it was a very good attempt.....hmmm...may be easier in daylight...

I fitted a LED spot on my Roomba and took a 45 minute exposure. Unfortunately the spot's upwards directed light lit the dust that Roomba rose up. I will diffuse the light the next time I try it. That will probably help to combine the light if the three separated LED to one sharper beam.

Abandoned barn detail, Wasco County OR.

This was my first attempt at a composite of the moon and its halo on a misty evening. The composite is comprised of 11 individual shots, that I then combined in Photomatrix.

Second attempt at this shot. Finally the sun came out but I think a third try in the near future is calling!

My first attempt at a triptych. I don't think I will be doing very many of these....they are ALOT of work. Check it out on the larger scale to see all the juicy details!

A submission attempt for Phayze81's October fanart lego build challenge

First attempt at macro....need a little practice! All suggestions welcome.....

My second attempt at a self portrait. This time with a shoot through umbrella and a single speedlight.

My first attempt at HDR

Raynox DCR 250 attached to Nikkor 55-200mm lens.

The river is one of my favorite places to take photos, day or night and I have many shots of this bridge..the challenge is to make them different and interesting. I went there a couple of nights ago..when the weather was divine. I had my tripod and ambled along the boardwalk, taking long and "regular" exposures from different focal lengths.. WARNING: Many bridge shots will be posted, view at your own risk (of boredom) lol!

The long exposure shots (60 seconds) all came out bright...I stepped down the EV to -3 in some cases. The "regular" exposures were done with the camera either set in Program or on "Night Scene"....

Many thanks to Colette Simonds for the advice and encouragement!

This is one of the photos of my new project "The Roots of The Ego".

Stay Tuned!

My first attempt at HDR. Tried blending two images in CS3, mucked up the clouds big time. So I'm trying out CS5 now, which in my opinion has far superior HDR capabilities. This image is HDR applied to a single image and then blended with the original. The clouds still needed a lot of a attention but at least Adobe has come a long way since the last version. I think this now appears almost as magnificent as the scene appeared to my eyes at the time.

Sorry the photo is slightly blurry. Anyway, yeah. Flecktarn. This will be useful to get good at, since not only is it modern but it is just about the same as WWII Pea Dot camo.

So yeah, expect to see more of this, I only have 1 modern combat fig for this planned, but in the future there will be a nice few WWII Germans with an assortment of this and Oakleaf.

And the real thing has another color, its a dark green, so in the future I will put in a layer of dark green pattern. I left it out this time to keep it a little more simple, since this is only my first try.

Yeah yeah, I'll add boots later.

Cheers!, and Happy Holidays! ; j

My very first real beauty shooting.

My first attempt at texture! Tips are more than welcome.

View On Black

My first sight of Half Dome and Clouds Rest from Olmsted point was that of sheer elation. To see this vast glacier-carved canyon dropping down from below me, anchored on one side by the grand granite facade of Clouds Rest and the not-frequently-seen face of Half Dome made my jaw drop.

It was my first trip to the High Sierras of Yosemite and to see such magnificent beauty from the window of my car just seemed epic.

Fast forward 4 years later, my jaw still drops as I come around the corner and get the classic view into Olmsted point. The memories, seemingly freshly etched in my mind, just get reinforced everytime I see this.

The only difference this time: I got to see an epic sunset; the sky turned into colors that I had never seen before. Seemingly brown clouds that hung around low in the horizon just a few minutes before took on the wildest shades of orange and pink. I truly vished I was at Glacier Point seeing this magnificent color developing in the sky.

Nevertheless, this was my best attempt on a freezing winter evening in the High Sierras. A multiple explosure blend from bracketed images was needed to get some shadow details.

First stencil on Card Stock (not very heavy, i.e. underdrip) but soon to be done much cleaner next time.

Here the photo was "pasted" into the "Flickr photo book" with photo mounting corners! Three times with the "FLICKR" brand and once with my own brand (bottom right).

Hier wurde das Foto mit Fotoecken ins "Flickr Fotobuch" "eingeklebt"! Dreimal mit der Marke "FLICKR" und einmal mit der Hausmarke (unten rechts).

Someone attempted to steal this Beaver in the early hours of Feb 21 at Vancouver's Coal Harbour seaplane base. After starting, the Beaver then crashed into a Harbour Air Otter and almost severed its wing. Another Otter was also damaged. The right wing of this Beaver was completely detached and has not yet been found. The perpetrator fled the scene and has not been apprehended. A very expensive caper.

Another of my attempts in the early 1990s to document Bowring Park, my favourite urban park. This one is November or perhaps late October 1991.

The pool here was dug out by hand in 1912 and populated henceforward with duck and swans. Today they are joined by hundreds of pigeons and happy rats, too.

I liked using Agfachrome 100 RC film back then and generally had much better luck with it than with, say, Velvia which I was also using at the time. This was shot in my Voigtlander Bessa, an old 6x9cm folding camera with hairy edges around the film frame. It is actually just two 6x9 frames but, having scanned them whole, I lined them up in such a way that they appear to be three smaller frames. My file for this image is nearly fifty MB and I had to scale it down to just 3 MB to upload it for posting. My notes, by the way, say that it was shot (on a tripod, a rarity for me) at f/22 at one-fifth of a second.

I’ve been debating on doing a thing like this for a long while so here’s my attempt at a permanent room dio. I dunno what else to say except a lot of tape was used and that designing a room is super hard.

Also 1/6th coffee tables are hard to find so

The original photos were of my niece, Lake Michigan, and a windsurfer who had caught a lift and was air-borne. Photoleap Cloud Wanderer was used to create this image.

I did message the image to my neice and she said it made her day. :-)

Second attempt at an RC trial truck. Some of you may remember the one I made one or two years ago, and this is the V2. I based it off if Nico71's design, but it's 10 years old, so it needed some major revamp. It's got a ton of upgrades:

Tatra type suspension (look it up)

AWD/4WD (locked diffs, but no 2WD option)

No differentials

Faux V8 engine

Sick looking steering

X4 Yellow spring front suspension

X2 norm/grey spring rear suspension

Six decals from 42021

Rollcage

E-Z switch battery box

Only 2 motors=more power

F-B ~66-33 weight distribution (perfect for climbs)

Winch ( Just kidding, should probably look into that...)

Way lighter

Way smaller ( no trailing arm suspension...)

Anyway, continuing my branching out into other genres of LEGO.

In the past, I have had decent luck getting night sky shots with the windmills around. However, the smoke in the air and the city lights not far enough away forced me to drive deeper into the mountains.

An attempt on the far goal.

Feeling peer pressure from the boys, I have decided to put up one of my photos from our trip to Peggy's Cove. I literally blew the dust from my tripod and put on my wide angle lens. So much lighter then the 100-300 I do a vast majority of my shooting with. This is straight out of the camera, no photoshop, I don't know what made the sun go like that, water drops I guess. It was great fun to go out and try something quite new to me.
