Dozens of Bald Eagles in several brief, intense periods on a recent morning were flying from shore at various angles to a small commercial fishing boat that was tossing unwanted fish back into the water for them. Concurrently, many eagles were flying back to shore at various angles either with their prize or in frustrated failure. There were numerous incidents in which an eagle returning to shore to eat its fish was attacked by another eagle trying to force, in football jargon, a fumble of the fish back into the water. I saw multiple fish dropped and scooped up by the aggressor.
In this picture (pic #1) a bigger female is positioned to strip a fish out of the talons of what seems to be a smaller male. The male is giving her a head fake (also sports jargon) to make her think that he is going behind her. Instead he veered in front of her and they seemed to touch. But he managed to escape with the fish and vocalized in triumph (Pic #2). As he flew off, he tucked in the fish better to risk avert against another thief flying from shore to intercept him.
It was interesting to see some veterans of this kind of activity protect their fish by flying very low over the lake and land to reduce the number of possible angles of attack.
Many problems I used a old picture of the Viceroy on a flower , the picture was gloss " BAD " Flash and gloss don't work well together.
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Redo".
I've tried creating a redo of my image for the theme "buckle".
It's still far from perfect or close to what I had in mind, but I think I like it better than the original, which I wasn't really happy with.
Shot with Leitz "Focotar 50 mm F 4.5" (manufactured by Schneider-Kreuznach) on a Canon EOS R5
I have big problems at the moment when developing my 4x5 negatives. All pictures always become too dark. I tried various things last month - but the results are always insufficient. The picture here is straight the best - but also too dark. I stay tuned!
Third attempt over the years to take this photo.
Mist in the Demer valley, before the rising sun with pastel shades of sky, that was pretty much my idea and then also a nice freight train..
Mixed freight train on its way to Antwerp.

Royal Tern (Thalasseus maximus) and Laughing Gull (Leucophaeus atricilla)
The Laughing Gulls are merciless when it comes to preying on the catches of other seabirds. It was this Royal Tern's quick evasive maneuvers that enabled it to hold on to its Blue Crab and enjoy its meal.
Thanks for visiting!
The ever-opportunistic gull swept in to try to steal the catfish from the Red-breasted Merganser. Unfortunately, during its escape the merganser dropped the fish and the gull failed to retrieve it.

This is my very first attempt at star trails. I took this in my back garden so no castles, windmills or other dramatic foreground I'm afraid.
Alas yesterday night cloudy skies aborted any reasonable attempts to capture the first full moon of 2025, the Wolf Moon though I was able to make out Mars a steady light below the moon through my lens but unable to capture any usable frames because the cloud cover. However this evening, clear skies allowed me to capture a few frames at 98.2 % full, 2025’s Wolf Moon. After our last try to get the Ferry bridge in sun on our trip in 2022 failed, it had always been a must to retry, With once again patchy skies this time the clouds stayed away and we find the southbound empty coal train in great sun light cooking off the last few miles to Healy.
So, first things first, credit to Fantxtik for the character and original picture.
I attempted to add some neon effects, but it just didn't really turn out bright.... at least is glowy.
The sun was given much of a chance to shine on the Winter Solstice. This shot from around 9am shows it trying to break through. Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2
One single long exposure. No photoedition : straight out of the camera except for contrast/crop.
Lights: me
Trigger and CRT operator: Gregory Lamouline
Light painting session with Martin Gerard, Gregory Lamouline, Sylvain Horne
One year ago, I've ordered a CRT tool from the mechanic magician Alan Thompson, brother (and official provider) of the talented Chris Thompson.
But this piece of mechanic has remained unused until yesterday. As I was going to spend a light painting evening with two CRT enthousiasts, I've decided to finally give a try !
Of course, as a total newbie about CRT, I have everything to learn, but I love how it creates unpredictable results (for me). It opens a lot of new possibilities and now my brain is making bubbles. :)
Another attempt, this time with manual lens. Spent about 5 minutes by that bush. I took about 80 shots, got 6 keepers out of it, pretty happy with it but the bees are still to small to me, need better magnification for sure.
After quite a while without having the energy or strength to hold my Canon & macro lens, this morning in the garden, I noticed some dew drops...I was motivated to try...
Too much light pollution where I live (and in most of Belgium) to get a picture of the Milky Way. So, I thought I'd draw it. First attempt.
I made it out today for the first time for a little while which was great. Unfortunately what wasn’t great was I left it a little late in the day to start shooting. I was literally in a race against Mother Nature as the light faded. I had originally planned another shot in my head only to find out when I got there that the sun was in the wrong place for the shot I wanted. Luckily I came across this shot and the light was just perfect. In saying that In Scotland during autumn honestly the light can change very fast and by the time I had taken my third attempt trying to catch the leave and the light just right the sun had nearly disappeared. Unfortunately with the disabilities I have it can often affect my energy levels so I feel I miss the best light to shoot at, but I have to be grateful for the luxury of being able to get out once in a while I guess.
