My mum gave me her old sewing machine so I thought I'd have a go at making a dress from one of Gina's patterns. It actually started off as a skirt but once I had made it, I realised that she didn't have a top to match so I ended up making a top as well! The skirt wasn't too difficult to make but the top was quite tricky because everything is so small.
My first attempt was a miserable failure. The base wouldn't hold the tree and the branches were too thick at the bottom to fit into the space we had.

I attempted to make vegan pear lemon cupcakes on a lark. The verdict? They didn't rise and didn't taste anything like pears or lemons, but the flavor was good. I don't know if it was something I did (too much canola oil?) or the recipe that made them not as cupcakey as I would like, but at least they're not bad!
Sometime between 5 p.m. last night and 8:30 a.m. this morning, someone tried to kill my fish!!!! Whoever it was, dumped the whole container of food into the fish "Environment" (Actually a used maoyonaise jar.......recycling...get it?)
As soon as I spotted it, I pulled the fish out of the yucky water and put him in a cup of clean water. Now he's in a real fish bowl.

I decided that it was time to dye my hair again and red/strawberry blonde seemed like such a good idea...until it turned out orange. Dave called me "Pumpkin Head" all morning. Let's just call it an early tribute to Halloween!
Shortly after his first attempt at mobility, I put him to bed (it's boys' day) and left him to go to sleep.
He was quiet for a while and I figured he'd gone to sleep. However when he started to cry again a while later, I went to check on him. And this is what I saw.
He should be on his back, under the covers and asleep. Not on his tummy up the other end of the bed and awake!
