I fucked up though. Waiting until the end to put my references in was a terrible idea, and when it came to it, I couldn't be bothered, so I didn't. (Well would you? Eight pages of bollocks about behaviorism, Skinner, operant conditioning, blah, blah, blah.) So I got marked down for that. Pretty much a perfect essay in every other regard.
I am pretty excited.....I saw a movie on catching motion by Bryan Peterson on Adorama and decided I would try it out. Darn if it didn't work!!! I have had to use sport mode in the past because I could not seem to get shutter speed to work for me...all my pics were black. I discovered much later that since I had told the camera to never use higher than 800 iso, I had prevented it from doing what it had to do to make the pic work.....a LITTLE knowledge can be a terrible thing.....
I am new to editing photos besides editing with instagram filters. I've been using Pixlr for editing my photos this week. The original photo's colors were fairly dull, so I increased the color contrast to make the colors more vibrant. I also changed the color balance to make the photo more blue and green, rather than red. I cropped the photo to remove distractions and focus more on the glasses. In the original photo is was difficult to see my friend and I in the reflection of the sunglasses, but after the edits, alot more detail is visible. I think the edits made the photo have a more clear focal point and gave a more detailed photo.
For this photo, I took a picture of some rocks. I really like how there are a variety of colors and sizes along with some small twigs.

To begin, my editing experience is at a very beginner and amateur level. I have personally and not professionally edited my photos on my iPhone before, but have never used a software program. For this photo, I used Pixlr to make my edits. To begin, I used the Crop tool multiple times to adjust where my focal point was in the frame. I rotated it, cropped and re-cropped in order to center the rose the best I could. I felt that this made the rose the blatant focal point. I also cut out a pair of shoes and unnecessary background space to accomplish this more. I then used the Brightness & Contrast adjuster to lower the brightness level and increase the contrast of the image. I did this, because I wanted the black of the asphalt to stand out against the crisp whiteness of the ribbon. I also wanted the color of the rose to pop off the page. Finally, I used the Sharpen took over the ribbon and the edges of the rose petals, because they seemed like they could be more distinct. I did this, because I wanted the rose and ribbon to look like they were right in front of you, instead of behind the camera lens.

I gave my camera to my nine years old son and told him to go and take some pictures. He came back with this...not bad.

Because it's just me and Jojo, I don't bother to decorate or anything holiday related. But, my boss loves decorating the club.
I was ecstatic when I saw he had strung lights on the stair rail leading up to the dressing room Sunday night. Since I had my camera with me, I couldn't wait until we closed so I could do some mad snapping in hopes of capturing bokeh effects! I think I hit the mark!
