Lesson learned today: I really need to clean my lens!
Part of a school assignment for photography. 2 of 3 photos in a study of line.

Week 4, 2/10 Stars. Same photo, just changed the blue door to yellow and offset the Gamma and Exposure. Both photos edited in Photoshop CS4, taken with a Canon EOS 50D, with a Canon 70-200mm telephoto zoom lens. (This photo was taken in August of 2010, and I used the original photo in order to complete the 'Splash the Color' assignment listed here: assignments.ds106.us/assignments/splash-the-color/)
HFG Assignment #17 was for a self portrait and Sprint8 said I couldn't be wearing a nose so here goes......

For this assignment, I decided to do my assignment inspired by the American modernist to postmodernist artist named Stephen Shore. What caught my eye about Shore’s work was that he takes very simple photos but makes them stand out. I’ve noticed that a lot of the photos he takes show places like gas stations, store signs, and lots of streets. In my photograph, I wanted to use a picture that I took which is a lineup of cars to give an idea of the type of photo that Shore would take. I mainly just try to use a photo that looks natural, colors standing out, as well as having a plain background. The focus for me was to replicate Shore’s style of keeping his photos simple while also showing a scene of cars which I’m very passionate about. Overall, Stephen Shore and his photography has definitely stood out to me in a way where I shouldn’t take his style of photography for granted.
Today I took the camera into Sleaford and visited the National Centre for Craft & Design, formerly known as The Hub.

A screenshot of one of the assignments I created. The image for "Explore" was created in Word using WordArt and Clipart, though today I re-made it in PowerPoint at a larger size to reuse in other places.
Glass of milk and mince pie for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph. My kids are young adults now and we still do it every christmas eve, how sad is that!
