Active Assignment Weekly challenge: Just Outside Your Door
This image is tilted, but it is literally right next to my front door - I've cropped it out from the final photo, which was taken just as the sun was going down. I've manipulated the light settings so that it looks like it was taken late at night.

This shot shows my love for working outdoors. I helped put this fence up and it took several hours and a lot of energy but I would do it everyday because I am working outside.

When it comes to editing photos, I have absolutely ZERO experience, so this assignment was a bit of a challenge. I used the built in windows photo editor, which is a pretty shallow editor when compared to some others. With the following photo, I made a ton of edits, including changes to both brightness and contrast, cropping, sharpening, saturation, and color temperature adjustment. Overall, I feel that the changes help make the photo feel more alive, with more color, light, and more focus on the candle.
This is Frank one of the Hygienists at my dentist's office. I don't normally see him so I was glad when he agreed to be my guinea pig when all the others had gone home. The rooms were small so it was a little cramped to get a photo with the background so I stood in the hall to get the shot. Because he was so much taller than me I stood up on a step stool. ISO 400, 18 mm, f/5.6, 1/20 sec. Exposure +.83, shadows +32, blacks -10, on the curve I went a little down as well. I didn't like the overhead fluorescent light in the picture so I cropped it out.

This week I would like you to find or create an image of a single letter.
You can find it in a shape of nature or create the shape of the letter with something manmade.
Restrictions: Only one single letter. You can include different objects but only one letter.
Dare: Try to "find" the letter instead of "create" it.
WIT: Weathervane section of an antique store. There must have been 60 different styles. I adjusted the sharpness and cropped the original.
Here we are in week four of the new quarter and I have yet to post anything from Photography. Bad Alex, indeed.
I fooled the Photography I teacher into giving me an A, and so I was shuffled along into Photo II. Focus: darkroom techniques. First technique learned: creating negative prints in the darkroom.
The process is fairly simple: create a regular print, place it on top of a piece of blank photopaper, and expose to light.
I picked some shots from the previous quarter for this assignment.
