I love to take pictures at stormy weather in such landscapes, everything is reduced to the essentials. The wildness of the scenery, constantly formed by the forces of nature, with myself right in the middle, overwhelmed by this impressions.

195129 approaches Grange-over-Sands with the 1C54 12:28 Manchester Airport to Barrow in Furness service.
The 1956 built box works the line between Arnside and Ulverston.

Light breaks through the clouds over Teton Valley, Idaho brightening up an otherwise gloomy late November day.
I happened to spot this cloud formation bubbling up close to the horizon, and was struck by the way the sun hit the rim of the clouds, and at the same time cast a hazy light on the clouds above.
The Black Pirate navy moves towards the outnumbered Heliumites. But they have John Carter, and he's a Hero.

On a dark March night 323230 approaches Dinting with a Hadfield bound service. The line off to the right goes direct to Hadfield and was once the main line to Woodhead tunnel. The unit here will veer off to the left and travel via Glossop
A storm began to approach while I was photographing the famous yellow hut in Sakrisøy. The sun was behind me and I noticed the rainbow but there was no way I could get the rainbow and the yellow hut in the same picture. I ran around manically looking for a composition that worked and ended up with this.

In February 2007 UP lent Rio Grande Heritage unit 1989 to lead the Ski Train. In a similar location to my previous Ski Train post, this time on the east side of Tunnel 1 I shot the Ski Train as it ascended the Front Range and into the former Tunnel District of the Rio Grande. Seen here approaching Tunnel 1
A puffin on final approach to land on Skomer with it's load of sand eels for it's chicks. I know it isn't pin-sharp, but it was SO difficult to catch them properly in-flight, they are incredibly fast

As the storm clouds made their way across the mountains the warm air from the Valley floor caused a dramatic affect to the storms front...
After 60085 had left Skipton bound for Leeds there was about four hours to kill before the next action I had spotted in the area. I missed the New Biggin in the timetable. Anyway I thought it would be a good time to explore the Embsay and Bolton Railway railway where No 7 and 37294 were found to be working services.
37294 seen approaching Prior Lane from Bolton Abbey. The siding to the left presumably serving a local quarry. Any clues would be welcomed.
I drove to Glen Coe with high hopes this morning, I had a photo planed in my head and by God I was going to take it. Needless to say I never got it, the weather heard of my plans and messed it up for me.
I then decided to go down Glen Etive a little way. I've shot these falls a couple of times before, and looking back at previous efforts I have to say this is my best yet by some considerable distance. I hope it takes you to exactly where I was standing, soaking up the atmosphere.
