Another photo of the storm near Rapid City South Dakota...This dumped an inch of hail in a matter of minutes.
Note the turquoise color in the clouds...This is a good indicator of hail.

I am constantly amazed with the talent of the young and some very young surfers. There were quite a few of them on this morning. This particular dude (could he be more than 10 years old) was one of them. He was constantly able to find the right location to catch a wave and then to be able to actually ride it when so many seemingly more experienced surfer simply failed.

"....and it shall come to pass that afore the apocalypse durst descend upon the people of England that there will cometh three harbingers of doom. The first shall be that on a Sunday afternoon in early October the streetlights of Leeds shall appear strangely menacing".
Judging by the look of this one I'd best stock up on tinned food and tea bags.
3 bracketed shots at 2 stops. Tonemapped with Photomatix Pro 3.2. Deliberately left a low level of noise in to give it a grainy effect. I like how the water came out.
The longest Tunnel in the Tunnel District is Tunnel 17, which is 1,752 feet long, or roughly 1/3 of a mile long. The tunnel allows the tracks to leave South Draw, and connect with the open valley at Crescent, near Gross Reservoir. The westbound Zephyr is approach a clear (green) intermediate signal just east of Tunnel 17 on the approach to Crescent.

Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

An aircraft on final approach to Detroit Metro, shot from a phone in a car moving at 70 mph (no, I was not driving) through a closed window...
All things considered, it came out pretty well. The clouds made for an interesting sunset. This wasn't the only shot I took, but it came out much better than most.
The Grand Canyon and an approaching storm as seen from a vantage point on the North Rim at the end of a hike.

Not much Fall left on the trees. Wind gusts over the last few days have dropped most of the leaves to the ground. Next up, snow. Oh boy!
