Manor zoo park in Pembrokeshire has two red Pandas - Betty and Barney. They have been brought together in the hope they may mate - they certainly like each other!

I had been warned not to get too close to the Pandas so I didn't freak them out.

However, they were both so very interested in what I was doing, I have many blurry images of Red Panda noses as they approached too close for my camera to cope!

Barney (in this image) seemed to be a particular Pentax fan...!!

3 Years ago today, CP 113 heads north on the MacTier Sub in some nice evening light, passing over Highway 50 as they near the mileboard for the Palgrave siding with a trio of GE motors up front. Although not entirely sure what the future held at the time, I remember making efforts to head out to shoot run-of-the-mill trains like this semi-frequently, and today those efforts are paying dividends as the average 113 is reduced to a pair/trio of CPKC slop most days of the week.

Shot very shortly after my miniature island shots, I had to get off the sands due to the approaching tide. It brought with it a few black clouds and a change of mood.

Taken from an opening in a karst outcrop in Halong Bay, Vietnam. We'd entered the cave at sea level in bright sun shine. After exploring the cave we came out at high level just as the sun was setting.

The smooth bark of arbutus trees (Arbutus menziesii, Pacific madrona, madrone) becomes particularly red when it's wet from rain and mist.
