A mass of clouds has moved in from the west, looming above the hills of Pacheco State Park.
F-15C Eagle AF86-0166, of the 493rd Fighter Squadron, on approach to Runway 24 at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.
The final approach up Mount Sheridan goes along this ridge. Aside from a forested stretch 3/4 of the way up, the entire trail has great views.
At the beginning of the year we went to the Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California. This beach is famous for the keyhole, a hole in a rock out on the ocean. The sun light shines right through the keyhole at sunset, but only in December and January when the sun is low. This reflection shot is facing the rocks located in the ocean.
I processed a realistic, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Heading west approaching Glen Coe beside the Kingshouse Hotel on the A82. I've said this before but if you see this scenery with clear blue skies I think that you are missing something.
The mountain in the foreground on the left is Buachaille Etive Mòr, behind it is Buachaille Etive Beag. In the centre but on the north side of the Glen is Aonach Eagach.
Yes, I have done some processing but only minor tweaks.
Roseberry Topping is just a 1000 ft high,but is a prominent landmark for miles around. It lies on the long distance Cleveland Way footpath and provides a strenuous, albeit short, ascent..

I made my way down to the South Yuba River the other day. While I was driving to the river, clouds were rapidly gathering. By the time I made it to this spot on the river I knew that I wouldn't be staying very long. I grabbed a couple of shots and headed back to my vehicle. Before I left the parking lot it had started to hail then quickly turned to snow. It was an interesting drive back home.
UP MBNAS, led by Alton & Southern 2205, rolls towards Shops on the I&M on Springfield, IL, to do some work.
I'm not 100% satisfied with this one, more like 75%.. But still pretty good for never shooting this location before, and the sun angle, etc.
Looking south along the shore of Lake Michigan toward downtown on approach into O’Hare. On this flight from Newark, we flew over Saugatuck before crossing the lake.
At the last moments of light before the night approaches here in San Antonio, Texas. Got home a bit late and was able to get this awesome sunset shot. Hope Y'all like it.

The WNYP "Slingshot" heads east towards Corry, PA and eventually Falconer, NY on the former Erie. I believe the bridge in the background is the former PRR line that split off from what is now the BPRR, and ran south to Oil City. This was one of the last regularly scheduled runs to Falconer from Meadville as traffic on the WNYP had declined.

Continuing to mine the great variety of Canadian railroading in the 1980s, we present this view of an eastbound CN container train approaching Montreal on a rolling tangent through Beaconsfield on 9 July 1987, with C630M leading two other big MLWs.
Class 66 No. 66303 (ex DRS acquired by GBRf) heads the 6V75 Dee Marsh – Margam steel train, seen approaching Pandy, near the English/Welsh border, on the Welsh Marches line.

Typical of south Florida weather patterns, this sunny hot day can quickly turn into a rainy day as rain approaches in the distance. After the rain, the sun generally comes right back out - providing for a nice mix of steam, heat, & humidity!
Ah, just think, next week I'll be cold (but quite possibly, still wet).

"Huntly Castle sits on the edge of the small market town of Huntly, beside the River Deveron in Aberdeenshire.
The magnificent ruin of this motte and bailey style castle dates from the 12th century. With its splendid architecture, Huntly Castle served as a baronial residence for five centuries. The earliest stronghold on the site sheltered Robert the Bruce in the 14th century.
The palace block, erected in between the 16th and 17th centuries, has an impressive L-plan tower house and defensive earthworks from the civil war. The last two weeks passed quickly since the release of MMV's TransMontana ( flic.kr/p/2oShMTV ). The weather was so stormy in those days when I visited the lake Balaton. This one hit with a heavy downpourshortly after its arrival, but before that it provided an amazing sight.

2O22, the 1614 Skegness - Nottingham, is seen approaching Heckington, home of the most impressive of the ten windmills in shot. The train itself occupies about two pixels in the distance, the rest of the scene is the star of the show. The windmill is the only eight sail functioning mill in the UK; it was originally 5 sails but the gear was replaced in 1891. When I say functioning, apparently in a storm a few years ago the sails rotated in the wrong direction, presumably breaking gears and/or drive shafts, so it is temporarily out of action. I guess windmills were highly stressed structures and always prone to damage - modern ones aren't immune either. After a day of cancelled trains, generally hanging around and variable weather, this made the waiting worthwhile.
