According to our cab driver the elevated tram rail to the left is being built to serve the residents of the hotel. The resort is scheduled to open in September.

Approaching the town of Cayucos as we drove up the California coast. We were about 200 miles north of and 3½ hours away from Los Angeles, and had another 15 miles to go to get to Cambria, our destination.
Hiking from Nikkaluokta towards the mountains surrounding Kebnekaise. Kebnekaise, which is above the Arctic Circle, is the highest mountain in Sweden (2,104 meters). The base of the mountain can be partly seen in the middle right.
It was raining as I drove down the Dan Ryan Expressway, approaching Chicago - the Sears Tower and John Hancock Center are visible (Some of the tallest skyscrapers in the USA, if not the in the world).
I know these types of lunar pictures can be rather uninteresting without any foreground objects or telephoto close ups of craters. However, that is what I like about this picture. The emptiness emphasizes the moon’s isolation. The first thing that popped into my head was NASA’s Apollo Program. Looking at this picture, I get the sensation as if I was an astronaut in a spacecraft making the approach to the moon.

What a morning! While approaching Amsterdam-Schiphol, we fly over several drains and canals just north of Amsterdam. Some slight clouds still mark that it is early morning while we get set for the turn into runway 18C. Really fascinating due to the fact that we were going kind of parallel to a KLM plane which was about to land on 18R.
Alas, the cloud was still in control by the time SBB Cargo Class Ae 6/6 11442 approached Ependes with the morning regional freight 61535 from Lausanne Triage, heading for Estavayer-le-Lac.

There comes the time when you have to say good-bye to your friends and a beautiful place and start heading back.. Thus we have packed up our suitcases and started heading back to Madrid in preparation to the second part of our trip. With not enough time to spare for stops on the way - not mentioning that there aren't many places one can stop on a highway I have decided to see if I can document our trip from the car window... Not the greatest way for trying to catch the scenery, but that was all I could do, lamenting many times the lack of time, for there was so much to see off the highway and it would have been fantastic if we were able to take a side road and get to the castles and mountains and villages that we were able to spot on the way...
The day was gorgeous and we have decided to see if we can manage to stop on the way in Granada to visit the famous Alhambra Castle... Alas just when we got there they have announced that they are not taking any more visitors (there is a daily limit of 6600 people that they allow in). We did walk around the place enjoying the gardens surrounding it, but I won't get to those pictures until later...

I chased 589 From Walkley to Glen Robertson To Hawkesbury to Ivaco. Then Back to Hawkesbury and then Back to Glen Robertson where 589 tied down.
