Spencer, the last climber in our practice scenario, can now carefully approach the lip of the crevasse and use his extra length of rope to lower a locking carabiner down to the fallen climber. He lowers the carabiner down on a loop made from the extra length of rope and has the fallen climber attach it, along with the rope, to his climbing harness. Notice how the end of the rope is tied off to Spencer's harness for now. This is just to keep it out of harm's way while Spencer and Matt set up the rest of the rescue system.

Haresfield Beacon was the halfway point of the first hike, and luckily, it was also the place where the weather started to finally clear up, and the hike shifted to some relatively open spaces instead of woodland hiking

The road up to Bitihorn. This is before we hit the official cross-country trail.
I was practicing with my 1.4 converter on my 100-400 lens. Unfortunately, the auto focus doesn't work on lenses with more than f4. So I have been in manual focus mode. I am planning a trip to Yellowstone in May and need the longest glass I can use. More duck.
