Shoshone Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Inyo County, California, United States. Shoshone Village is located on the Tonopah and Tidewater Railroad 14 miles (23 km) east of Epaulet Peak, at an elevation of 1585 feet (483 m). The population was 31 at the 2010 census, down from 52 at the 2000 census.
The town was founded in 1910. Although small, it is notable as a southern gateway to Death Valley National Park; in addition to being a junction of roads leading from Baker, California and Pahrump, Nevada, it has the last services available before the Furnace Creek area in the park. The commercial district of the town, including a Post Office, gas station, restaurant, bar and coffee house, is just north of the southern intersection of California State Routes 127 and 178.

A large group of well over 100 protesters gathered to voice their concern over what they perceived as police brutality and to listen to activists and local citizens speak about the pressing issues of the day. Some passing vehicles at the busy intersection, known as Joliet's "Six Corners", honked their horns and gestured signs of support and solidarity to the participants.

This was our last day in San Francisco and it turned out pretty nice. We had reservations for Alcatraz and arrived downtown early so we walked around a bit. It was Memorial Day and there were very few people out and about. Visiting Alcatraz was pretty cool - and cold! The wind was howling and never let up. The buildings are showing their age but still look pretty good. This would be a great place for a photo shop. Nice day but we were so ready to get home. I took these photos in May 2018.
We discovered disguised alien space base used to spy on Earth. Little Fella went to check the place out.

A lovely dusk walk from the coffeeshop to the Thursday night party. Mostly uphill. Suffice to say that this lad had an easier time getting down to campus than I had getting up to the house. Also: my trip was filled with considerably less terror.
