This photo shows the very basic set I used for my magic trick animation. The lack of legs on the guy made him easier to make and more stable so he didn't move about too much during filming. I had to be careful to frame the shot so that you could not see this. You can also see my storyboard and some of the tools I used to change the guys face and move the cards around.
Animation Director Extraordinaire does the construction worker from YMCA. Y? No-one knows. He's gay, you see.

July 2007 Animation, 22 seconds
Software use: Flash, Final Cut
Notes: This is a public welfare advertisement of the Red Cross Society of China, meant to promote its strong health care system and assistance force. I want to adopt the expressing approach of black comedy.
Jimmy, the God of death, constantly attempts to claim the lives of dying people. Unfortunately, his attempts always end up in dramatic failure as they are overwhelmingly crushed by the in-time first aid given by the rescue team from the Red Cross Society of China.
For this animation I was asked to pick a Mythical Creature and put it into a scenario in which it would naturally be. I chose a Faun, influenced but C. S. Lewis' 'Mr Tumnus' from 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'.
Faun's are spirits of nature, and therefore I decided to have my faun picking up litter in the forest, and interacting with another creature.

Today's 365 was going to be a before and after as I went to get my hair cut today, was going to have a side by side shot. But it was boring, whilst trying to get the shots though I realised it was making quite a cool little animation, so decided to do an impromptue animate gif of me randomly looking around my room and getting shocked by something (I am a bit bored!) - whilst putting this together I realised how much cooler this would have been if I had thought about this before I got my hair cut! :( but anyway....yeah!
