Just started doing the animation, for this i decided to block out the whole scene for the "Avi" character using a pose to pose approach, then build-upon the in-betweens with a straight ahead approach.

The last two actions need to be a bit sooner and snappier but this is working as a 2nd pass. after this ill start on the facial animation and do a final pass at the end to make it nice and shiny :D. ive decided to do the facial animation in the middle as ill need the general position of the character to make the best facial pose for that angle but I also want to get the facial animation started early so its not all left to the last phase.

AMC DIY Animation Workshop

AMC DIY Animation Workshop

This project was very interesting and challenging. I think I learned the many useful uses of every type of tape this semester. It is amazing the things we were able to make with such a simple household item. I had a lot of fun trying to wrap myself and help others in the class do the same. It helped me have a better understanding of my body, but it also made me very self cautious. It was a little challenge to find a way to make the body stand on its own. First I placed 6 pounds of rocks in the feet, but she still wouldn't stand up for very long. Gravity was not my friend. The most difficult part for having enough patience to take many photos of almost the same pose in order to make smooth transitions. I took about 300-400 photos of the 5 different stages I felt were important in a woman's life. First I created a jumprope out of tape and wire, and I made a wig for the girl to wear. Then I bought some pom poms and kept the wig. For the bride I bought some organza for the veil and a bouquet. For the pregnant lady I just pushed the flowers into her stomach and covered it with tape. Lastly, for the elderly lady I just added gray hair and a cane. It was a little difficult to take exactly the same photo in this hallway because many people would walk by, hit my camera, add new posters, or leave things on the ground. Overall, I was pleased with the outcome, but I do regret not making something more entertaining.

First personal idea, small rough animation made in 14 steps. Photoshop, 3 hours

Using the Dohnut Tutorial (Andrew Price) to create a very basic animation. Have I mentioned before how much I'm loving this?

Just playing around with an animated logo or splash for my new site. Even though I generally hate animated logos and splashes. And boy, it looks really compressed on here. Bad codec for animation, I guess.

The Animation Decathlon is a unique interactive arts installation combining cutting edge architectural projections, outdoor video gaming and original sound design in the courtyard of Kensington Town Hall.

The event is the culmination of a year long project working with children and young people across Kensington and Chelsea to create a fantastic series of 2012 - inspired drawings and animations. Click here to find out more about the project

On Saturday 21 March, the animated athletes and crowds they’ve created will be projected metres high onto the Town Hall and surrounding buildings where they will sprint, pole vault and swim across the sides of the buildings transforming the area into an ‘Olympic’ arena.

Magic of Disney Animation

The Magic of Disney Animation -- This attraction underwent a major rehab in November 2003, and then another minor rehab in October 2004. Here's the current format:

The tour begins with visitors sitting in an area featuring a live artist. The 10-minute segment, called "Drawn to Animation," features the artist interacting with an animated version of the tiny dragon Mushu, from 1998's popular feature Mulan. After hearing about the importance of character development and watching a humorous video with some Mulan artists, guests will visit the area that overlooks what USED to be the workspace of Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida. The Cast Member in this segment talks briefly about animation, and answers a few questions. Unfortunately, the real Disney animators were all laid off in early January 2003, and the entire animation process relocated to Disney's California studios, so there is nothing much to see when you are released from that part of the tour. After the cast member's talk, visitors have the chance to visit a number of interactive activities or to sit for 15-20 minutes at a Mickey-themed animator table and create their own Disney character art at the Animation Academy, under the guidance of a Disney artist.

The Sound Stage -- In this hands-on activity, young animators can play with various sound effects and create their own soundtrack for an animated scene.

Digital Ink and Paint -- As these workstations you can add color to an animated scene, and create your own atmosphere.

You're a Character -- In this booth, you can visit with Lumiere (of Beauty and the Beast fame), who will ask you a series of questions and tell you which Disney character you are most like.

I did this animation for the bank's Spring Auto Loan Campaign.

It's based on a poster that my boss designed. I wanted to add some motion to the ad, rather than just have a static image, so I made three blurry rows of trees and placed them on three separate layers and then animated them. I wasn't sure if it would work or look like a moving background, but I think it came out OK.

BA Illustration and Animation. Level 5 (2nd year). Two men and four women. 9th November 2010.

Initial notes: Facebook super-dominant digital environment; students more resistant to use of Facebook for study-related purposes than in other student focus groups; Twitter little used; most active bloggers (mainly images but some text); many had YouTube and Flickr accounts to which they uploaded content; YouTube and Flickr a valued source of visual data and 'how-to' guides; all mobile users; only 2 smartphones - HTC and iPhone - but 2 iPod Touch users; Blackboard site valued although could improve useability.

Strategic users of digital technology: e.g. because it offered free tools of value such as Skype for videocalls and YouTube and Spotify for free music. Regular users of Wikipedia to check words and names of artists, musicians and filmmakers but aware of tension between its content and peer-reviewed academic work.

Spinning Ball Animation made in Gimp. The file is pretty big, so animation on some machines may be sluggish.

This is an animation so there is more to see than blank sky and a tree. It is a striated pardalote, a tiny bird, emulating a vertical-take-off jump jet. Don't look at above image, to see the animation you have to look at the first comment below, or click here... for a cleaner image.
