1/13/09 - Day 13 of Project 365. This Cardinal was by herself. Usually a male counterpart is around. She was very alert while looking for food. I love how the feathers on the top of her head are standing up.

It was my last trip to Alert Bay for a while . . . so I had to have a few obligatory touristy photos for me :)

"Alerts" is listed as New on iTunes, but when you click through this is all you see.

I have no idea who "someone" is or what an individual or group's page would look like.

If you are going to bother having a page, don't let it be blank. Please?

AAW: Show Off Your Nature

Peter Branger says:

This evening I took my son to the cinema where we watched a movie that was shot in one of the few wild natural environments in my totally urbanized country (check out www.denieuwewildernis.nl if you like). I was totally in awe of the beauty and variety of wildlife so close to my home. It inspired me to set next week's theme to the challenge to show us your wildlife: birds, mammals, insects, whatever, as long as it is wild.

Restriction: no domestic animals

Dare: get in as close as possible.

WIT: The rabbits in our area turn white for the winter. From the ground up. Their tails stay white all year round. The change is just beginning for this little one. He was crouching in the neighbours yard as I took out the trash. He was still there when I came back with the camera and my zoom lens.. I took several shots and liked this one with him watching me intently. Slight crop off the left side to remove funny weeds' seeds and to put the eye at the thirds line.

In PP, lightened a bit and removed some of the seeds.

"What's that? Is it a ball? I want to play with the ball. Are you guys talking about me? I don't understand English, but I think you are talking about me."

Those are just a few of the things that I assume that Buster is thinking here in this photo.
