on the plains of the remote Western Corridor of the Serengeti we found a Cheetah with 4 cubs .

There is plenty of prey in that area including large herds of Thomson's Gazelle but there are also lots of Lions and Spotted Hyena's .

I find Cheetah mothers really fascinating

I was pleased to see my old friend the wild female fox that lives off one of the many trails in Anchorage. It's been two years since I was able to visit and here she was giving quite a look to something that was making noise off in the distance.

For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "Flora in mono"

There are no flowers in the garden now that winter has arrived. But our blue hydrangea bushes have given us plenty of flower heads to bring indoors and dry.

I took my title from one of my favourite song combinations .. "Blue Alert" - Song written by Leonard Cohen and sung by Anjani Thomas. If you fancy a bit of gentle blues:

what lurks in the underbrush?

Thank you everyone for taking a close look at my images, much appreciated!

Two young Mule Deer glancing back for the source of a sudden sound. Not to worry, it was just some falling rocks.

Barn Owl waiting patiently for a sign of prey. Taken at a Northumberland nature reserve.

This nesting pair of Osprey were on full alert protecting their young as another pair of Ospreys circled overhead.

A little fun with Photoshop, one day I'll get this shot for real.

Collared Sparrowhawk (Accipiter cirrocephalus)

Seen in the Heathdale - Glen Orden Wetlands on this day in 2019.

A late day walk on a foggy eve. The coyotes were near and howling. Time to head home.

Snugs giving all of her focus to what ever has captured her attention!

This gorgeous little fellow was certainly very alert and keeping an eye on me while I was trying to move slowly in trying to capture that stance. Brave little fellow!

A lineman lookout blasts on his horn warning the rest of the team up the line to be aware of an approaching train.

He was quite busy foraging on a fallen tree for a few moments then he totally surprised me when he flew up and landed on a tree very close to where I was standing. I did not get the chance to zoom out to get his whole body in the frame, so I had to settle for a close up of his head and shoulders! :)

My energy drink can collection is now up to five and growing. Where this is going nobody knows. I can now say this is part of the energy drink series.

Each can was shot individually with my Nikon 55mm f/2.8 NIKKOR Micro with about a 6-10 image focus stack. They do seem to have a lot of potential for art. Five cans, a rectangular to polar coordinate conversion, a wavy window and yummy colors make this slider complete!

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to gauge what a cat might be thinking. One moment it might be very playful and a split second later, its eyes and ears are showing an alert position.

Collared Sparrowhawk (Accipiter cirrocephalus) juvenile

One of a pair that were in the Heathdale - Glen Orden Wetlands.

I've been spotted across the waterhole, but earlier the Wildebeest had been rutting and running behind them, they were anxious with all the commotion and nervous to approach to drink water. Adult female and juvenile male at Erindi private game reserve, Namibia
