I was pleased to see my old friend the wild female fox that lives off one of the many trails in Anchorage. It's been two years since I was able to visit and here she was giving quite a look to something that was making noise off in the distance.

Female leopard (Panthera pardus) born March 2018 who has taken up residence in the north-western part of Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa - adjacent to her mother's territory. Conservation Status: Vulnerable

This gorgeous little fellow was certainly very alert and keeping an eye on me while I was trying to move slowly in trying to capture that stance. Brave little fellow!
A lineman lookout blasts on his horn warning the rest of the team up the line to be aware of an approaching train.
The classic stance for these birds as they're looking and listening for worms. I've never understood how they can hear a worm move or wriggle under the grass and down in the soil! Amazing to me.
I found this lovely bird in our front yard on November 1st, 2022. Of course I was on my belly to get this low perspective, a place I often find myself when photographing wildlife :)

I've been spotted across the waterhole, but earlier the Wildebeest had been rutting and running behind them, they were anxious with all the commotion and nervous to approach to drink water. Adult female and juvenile male at Erindi private game reserve, Namibia
I was waiting patiently for something to happen, when this Dipper turned up. Clearly distressed and alarmed. No more than five metres from me and Sandy. After about a minute a Mink came around the bend, right up close, looked me in the eye, then turned around and headed back up river. The Dipper watched it for a while and promptly went back to check on its new nest site..

we found this female Cheetah with her cubs in the late afternoon on our way back to the camp. She and her cubs were looking in all directions
In this remote part of Amboseli NP we had seen nomad male lions the night before.

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to gauge what a cat might be thinking. One moment it might be very playful and a split second later, its eyes and ears are showing an alert position.
