These Canada geese raise their necks to get a good view of their photographer. It's hunting season now, and they seem to know the risks. The geese a coots take a break from the whitecaps of this lake during a windy day in McIntosh County, North Dakota.

This Monitor Lizard was right by the side of the path, scratching amongst the undergrowth. It was unconcerned by a growing number of people who stopped to watch it.
Today I heard a siren roaring. I was puzzled what it was for and asked a lady walking her dog. She said, " I don't know either but usually it's for weather alert. You better go into some building." So I went in a cafe & had a sandwicｈ(^_^;),

We dropped a layer of light blue mulsh on the blackrock only to then have it start to bubble. We then found ourselves peeling off thick layers of paint to reveal the original marble surface covered in hammerite/smootherite tags from the mid 80's. Instead of repainting the surface we decided to incorporate this crazy ass background into our pieces.
Odisy has also come out of his coma.

I am learning that wastewater treatment plants and their environs are good places to find birds. We saw this banded Cooper's Hawk at Sweetwater Wetlands in Tucson, AZ

This past year, we received UF Alerts almost monthly, sometimes more than once. Not only are they alarming, but they are seriously unusual occurrences. Escaped prisoner?! That is rare, but only in Gainesville would something like that happen.
Half the time, it doesn't even seem like UFPD has things under control.
There are times when I go for a late-night gym session at 12 a.m. (don't judge me), which means I've walked home at 1 a.m. by myself, right where some of these crimes took place.
Are we safe anywhere?
What does this say about how UF's crime rates compare with other universities? Also, just how effective are these UF Alerts and how does it reflect Gainesville's law enforcement that is supposed to protect us?
I think I'll write a Letter to the Editor to the Alligator.

yesterday, I went up to the hilltop to photograph the owls again. This time, they were in different trees. As the Spring progresses, the leafy trees are getting greener, making viewing more difficult. Luckily this one was in the pine tree. Here, he stretches his wings forward and gazes intently. The contents of the owl pellet I dissected seem to be the remains of several brown rats or voles. More on that later...
