“In all things it is better to hope than to despair.", Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

__________

I'd spent so many hours on editing this that I just decided to finally upload it, accepting that it'll probably never end up looking the way I had intended it to. I feel like I've overedited a couple of my recent concepts and feel a little bad about it because I had planned on keeping the editing down to as little as possible and get my photos a little more realistic looking. I still think it fits here quite well, I was going for the painting like style, one could say. anyways, let me know what you think about it, I appreciate all your feedback so I can make it better next time :) its major inspiration is the Goethe quote I came across yesterday. I find quotes in general so inspiring and when reading them I almost always have an idea pop up in my head to make an image out of it.

also, I had to take down yesterday's cloud upload due to obvious editing mistakes I hadn't seen before, haha! I'll redo it but probably won't be uploading it again. so stay tuned for the actual cloud concept I'll be shooting soon.

I feel like what I've been doing recently is so dark :D and I often don't even intend it to be but it just ends up like that when I'm done editing, haha.. I guess I should do something happier, or, at least a little brighter soon :)

oh! and a huge, huge thank you goes out to Kiara Rose for writing me a lovely testimonial! thank you so much, Kiara :)

Took this shot last night when I went out with the pup for a bit, kind of nice seeing some bare ground but that's only around the spruce trees that reflect and catcht the sun . This is right beside my place in my neighbours pasture. Right now it's great to be able to almost walk normally again.

By tomorrow morning everything should be nice and white again as there predicting 10" of snow by tomorrow night.

Hope your all having a great weekend. I know spring will be here for us soon.

This shot really comes to life when viewd in the light box.

It was a large and beautiful circular room, full of funny little noises. A number of curious silver instruments stood on spindle-legged tables, whirring and emitting little puffs of smoke.

As you can see, I've missed part of her wing, and tail, but I hope you agree, that the head focus was spot on.

This is probably too purple, but I like it.

Autumn at Gilette Castle State Park in East Haddam, Connecticut. An attempt to capture the glowing leaves of this particular tree in the late afternoon light. Taken for DPS assignment "Leaves". You can also see larger versions of "Leaves" on black.

Former Payless Drug Store located at 1905 Monument Blvd. in Concord,CA. The building was built as Payless in the early 1990's but it isnt good enough for Rite Aid which has plans to constuct a new freestanding store on the corner of Monument Blvd. and Oak Grove Rd. The new store will be located on a site once occupied by a Shell Gas Station which is part of the well known "Four Corners". This building which Rite Aid is planning to vacate will likely be occupied soon after as it is quite a good location with a Food Maxx operating just a few feet away. I belive that Rite Aid has things quite good for them especially with the Food Maxx (which was originally a Lucky and closed as Albertsons in 2006).

For The Teleidoscope's Theme: Heroes

I got this idea while listening to Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah. For some reason it got me thinking about the side of heroes that we don't see, the sensitive side. Maybe they feel guilt about having to kill the bad guy, maybe they don't want to be heroes but feel obligated to keep saving the day. Hmmmm.....

Suria agreed to be photographed in this devil costume one more time just for Red Golden. Not quite as foul looking this time. (See the earlier photo below). She must be mellowing.

Taken from far away and cropped, but I like this too much to toss.

All sorted out. Does anyone have any ideas to what I could possibly use these for?

Baby shower cake based on the plates/napkins for the shower. I added a couple of large butterflies on wire to the top after taking the picture.

Obviously inspired by Kiara! Maybe going to enter this in her contest but I'm not sure!

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a collab with me? I've never done one before and they look fun. If you are then please please please fm me!

Explored #14! Thank you so much♥

I saw this and so posted it here

On Thursday night and through Friday December 12, 2008 Worcester in Central Massachusetts was particularly hard hit, by the worst ice storm in decades.

The Blackburnian Warbler (Setophaga fusca) is a stunningly-colored creature and the only warbler to don an orange throat. This time of the year, though, fall molt is well under way or over for most of these birds, and they've taken on their drab winter apparel. Interestingly, the name of this beautiful bird--often called the most handsome of North America's wood warblers--is shrouded in some mystery. While it is widely agreed that it is named for English botanist Anna Blackburne, discord exists when attempting to define who, precisely, did the naming!

Dear world, I am back! Let the last 100 days begin!

I took this a few weeks ago. I was getting so stressed. I felt sick, like if I could just throw up I'd feel better. I didn't feel safe driving, I just felt like I was going to end up hitting something. It was weird, and scary, and I hated life in general. So I forced myself to take a photo even though I was on my break, becasue I just needed some self-portrait therapy. And it worked. I just felt so relaxed and happy taking photos. Luckily school is now out for the summer and I can get back to what I love!

My entry for the 2013 MOCathalon, category 'Tropical Paradise'.

My tropical paradise is somewhere secluded, somewhere to get away from it all. You can keep your tropical beaches - the sand gets everywhere, and who wants to lie around on a beach all day? Not me, I'd prefer a place to explore, and find the perfect spot... a tropical forest.

Citroën 2CV "Charleston". That would make it a 1980 model, but I´ll pretend it´s a little older... ;-)

I saw her coming down from the hill and I took the shot.

When she came closer she said that she was sorry for ruining the shot. I answered "On the contrary, you WERE the shot". I smiled and thanked her so much for just being there at the right moment and I wrote down my flickr adress so that she could contact me if she would want a high res copy as a memory of a beautiful winter day in Stockholm.

(If you, the foreign lady sees this, contact me at oretep69@gmail.com and I´ll send you the image as I promised)

I´m filing this as a street/documentary shot even though it doesnt look like one. Just because, it is...

I had this idea in my head, and eventually my journal, for the past one and a half years. It came back so many times, but I never knew who to photograph for it next to Seb. And then Noukka asked me if she could come visit me at the beginning of may and I knew this was the perfect match and the right time. So on the first day when she was here we bought a white t-shirt, drew birds on it, walked up that hill together with Seb, then drew the same birds on his chest and took lots of photos. The moment I saw them on my computer screen I knew it was worth the wait. These must be some of my favourites I've ever taken and I'm so thankful I had two wonderful models who understood what I wanted from the beginning. :)

A family's manor home in central Garheim. The well-stocked storerooms will comfortably last them through the long winter.

Every room is accessible via two hinging sections and realistic staircase placement. Includes eight beds, one crib, storeroom, kitchen, dining hall, and two lookout points.

This is my first wintery castle. :) I really hope you like it.

Sunrise over Cronulla South Rockpool ( 6.40am 12/5/2012)

It was worth getting up early this morning to catch the sunrise.

The clouds and colours were just spectacular.

Birds flying, reflections on the rockpool .... just beautiful!

For those living in Sydney you would have seen the clouds and sky, the colours lately are just amazing!
