I agree that all good photographs are documents, but I also know that all documents are certainly not good photographs. Furthermore, a good photographer does not merely document, he probes the subject, he "uncovers" it... -

This little souvenir from Wales was given to me by someone special. It has been at my desk with me since I had it.
In a freak accident it was once beheaded - but after a precision super-glue effort, the piece is back to its original form.
I have decided to wait till the temperatures here drop to something I am comfortable in before I head out for some outdoor pictures. After discovering GMB Akash's works in the last two days, I have been left mesmerized and in awe. I am trying to draw inspiration, instead. =)
Built for the Space Jam Microscale City Category.
Not much to say about this build. Have wanted to do something in these colors in Microscale for a while now, just finally getting around to it. Original inspiration for such would be Mark E (www.flickr.com/photos/mark-of-falworth/page2).
Water was fun to build but annoying to photograph.
enjoy :)
So, I said I wasn't going to be building much.
it looks like I lied.
I realized when staring at my abysmally messy desk, that the They Dreamed it, you build it category of the AMBC fit the Falcon quite perfectly.
So Two days, many headaches, and way too many redesigns later, I've got a UNSC Falcon.
Capable of fitting a pilot at the controls, and five full figures in the troop compartment, all while still being pretty sturdy!
Oh, and I edged the official model up a bit by adding a WWII-esque pair of teeth on the cockpit.

This photo was taken at the Riverside, an area in downtown Phnom Penh where the Tonle Sap and the Mekong Rivers converge, brimming with historic landmarks, including Wat Ounalom and The Royal Palace.
There's also a bar district, known for its outdoor patio cafes, restaurants, hotels and hipster nightlife. As such, the Riverside is popular with tourists from around the world, who come here to relax, eat, drink and generally have fun.
And, like other S.E. Asian countries, wherever you find lots of tourists, you'll also find people (of all ages) hawking souvenirs, snacks, postcards, handmade jewelry etc.
The boy in the photo above was selling lotus seeds; a local snack food that goes well with beer. I bought some, of course, and he agreed to let me snap a photo. Judging from the money in the bag he's holding, he was having a pretty good day.
PS: The pinkish colored 5,000 Riel banknote clearly visible in the bag is equivalent to roughly $1.25 U.S.
Hallo there :).

This is kind of cliche but I have always wanted to take a picture like this<3
I have been procrastinating by not doing my homework... I should probably start on that...
This is a scene I had the idea for a while back, and only recently got to build.
It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, but I thought it's still worth sharing.

Hey all! Just a little micro-vig from me showing off my light grey texture collection, hahaha! XP (Ok, I do have a wee bit more...) Built to take advantage of a micro-licence I won over in Brethren of the Brick Seas, and situated in the celebrated Puerto Desafio of Eslandola's Isla de la Victoria.
Credit for that awesome fence design goes entirely to Emil Lidé!
Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!
“It is good to be back again, do you not agree, Posh Bear?” Asked Sky having brushed his fur for the fourth time that morning.
“Yes indeed, Sky, I see you are still trying to clean your fur of the maple syrup that landed in your lap on the way back.”
“Yes, it is taking time, I have licked and sucked all I can so now it is brushing and soapy water, I think. I do wonder why it always happens that way though.”
“Sorry, what do you mean, Sky?” Asked Bertie.
“That can of maple syrup, it fell from the shelf that Ellie had placed it on when she got into the ellicopter, it fell because she decided to go downside up without telling anyone. However, why is it they always fall downside up and the contents run out? One never hears of a can falling and landing the right way up especially when there is no lid in place.”
“True, and one would think that as the bottom of the can is heavier than the top when on the shelf, it should fall straight down and not turn over in mid-air like it did.” Said Bertie thinking aloud and rubbing his head in concentration.
“I know why that is.” Said Barnaby looking all excited to have the answer of the problem.
“So, why is that then, Barnaby?” Asked Posh Bear gently.
“Well, being a semi-genius, I have worked out that the contents did not like it in the tin and wanted to get out and I can’t blame it. After all, would you like to be crammed in a tin with a lid sealed on top and if that lid was removed, you too would try and get out.” He said proudly waiting for applause.
“I suppose…” Commented Sky sounding totally disinterested in where the conversation had gone.
“I am still working out why Ellie went the way she did and not the direct route. It took a lot of sleeps to get there and even then; she landed on the wrong side of the moon and in a puddle.”
“Yes, good old Ellie, there can only be one puddle on the whole of the moon and she manages to land right in the middle of it, downside up. It certainly stirred things up when she decided to rise again and try and land elsewhere.” Said Bertie laughing.
“Well, it did a good job of watering the ground all around the puddle. I do wonder how it got there though. I mean, it was just one deepish puddle and the land all around was completely dry.” Said Posh Bear.
“It wasn’t dry after Ellie took off again. There was muddy water all over that signpost indicating where the honeycomb mines were. The water washed years of dirt off the sign so it could be read. Well, it could if you can read, I suppose.” Said Barnaby smiling because both him and Sky had to ask what the sign said.
“It was good to find that new honeycomb mine and the honeycomb was very good. It is just a shame that Ellie did not like us filling bags of it and bringing it home in her ellicopter. I think she was afraid the bags would split and it would all run out and get sticky.” Said Bertie smiling.
“That is right, so really Sky when one thinks about it, a half tin of maple syrup is small fry compared the several large bags of honeycomb being let loose in the ellicopter. Now, that could have been a very sticky situation to lick ourselves free from.” Said Posh Bear smiling as he saw that Sky was brushing his fur yet again.
have a fabulous week :))
.... hopefully, in not too long, I'll be escaping the weight of high ISO noise ... Nikon or Canon? I want a camera that handles darkness well, high ISO performance ... cause I like shooting in the dark ... AND I live in Norway - so often I simply have too ... ;)
The chalk cliffs of the south-west coast of the Isle of Wight reach their highest point on what is now known as Tennyson Down, but was previously known as High Down - 147 metres above the waters of the English Channel.
After Tennyson's death in 1892 a local committee was formed to decide on an appropriate memorial to the poet who had made the island his home for 40 years.
The memorial - an Iona cross of Cornish granite - was almost certainly designed by Frank Loughborough Pearson, R.A., son of the well-known architect John Loughborough Pearson.
The site already had a beacon, a tarred wooden structure erected by Trinity House in 1893 and known as Nodes Beacon. Trinity House had to be approached for agreement to build a more permanent structure, and change the name to Tennyson Beacon.
As Douglas Freshfield, a Freshwater member of the committee, wrote to The Times:
The beacon cross should form a conspicuous and fitting memorial to one of England's greatest poets.
The beacon is 32 feet high and the cross itself is 24 feet high.
In 1895 the Board of Trade and Trinity House agreed to accept the memorial, that it should be known as 'The Tennyson Beacon' and that they would maintain it in future.
The cost of the memorial was estimated at £1,000 raised through subscription. The American poet Oliver Wendell Holmes formed a committee and raised £200 towards the cost.
By 1897 it had been completed and at 3pm on Friday 6th August the Archbishop of Canterbury performed the dedication ceremony. It was - intentionally - the 88th anniversary of the poet's birth.
The weather, as in this photograph - was glorious with sun and a cooling breeze.
The inscription reads:
In memory of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, this cross is raised as a beacon to sailors, by the people of Freshwater, and other friends in Europe and America.
I feel quite sure, said the second Lord Tennyson, after the dedication, that it is the memorial my father would have liked the best.
That is the positive side of the event. There was another, however, recorded in the pages of The Times a few days later:
that ill-organised, flat affair the other day, the unveiling of the Tennyson Beacon.
Whatever happened on that day, the cross stands almost unaffected by over one hundred years exposure to wind and weather.

Finally, I got this picture taken for this collaboration..I still need to do my element picture & a picture for a contest. AHHHH. I really am starting to feel the stress of school & photography.
Today was a pretty good day. I just am really upset with chemistry because I literally don't understand it. I am trying :( I took the comments off because I have been working hard on pieces & getting little to no feedback. So this photo is completely for me today.
Also I entered a contest, please vote for me HERE!!!! Just search up Megan Jean. :)

"THE WORST DAY FISHING IS BETTER THAN THE BEST DAY WORKING."
I haven't fished since I was a little boy with my late Dad and I have nothing but really good memories fishing with him.
Happy Hump-Day/Mid-Week/Wednesday all!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

So I dyed my hair.
Just kidding, Miss Madeline Masarik arrived Monday morning and will be staying with my family and I for the whole month of July! We've already gone on so many Aussie adventures this week, which I have already started to blog about. The first post can be read here. Tomorrow we'll be climbing the Harbour Bridge (super excited and nervous) & going out to eat at a very fancy restaurant. This was taken yesterday while exploring Leura Cascades :)
P.S. Thank you to Ingrid who sent me a whole packet of little butterflies to use in my photos. Didn't wait long :P

Today 17 babies will die, the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby.
This shocking figure, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, is something the public is not generally aware of. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century. Yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.
At Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we feel this number of deaths is totally unacceptable. We have launched the Why17? campaign to raise awareness of this devastating loss and to ask the question:
“Why are 17 babies a day dying and what can be done to halt this national tragedy?”
“I just want to raise awareness of stillbirth. I had no idea that this could happen to me

Trying out some different editing. I've been getting far more picky with uploading, which is really not in the 365 spirit, but I figure if I'm still taking photos everyday and only uploading ones I like and counting them towards the 365 then I'm kind of over achieving in a way? That's my justification.
Thanks to Rachel for shutter bursting for me!
I was hoping to renew my pro account by now, but my bank account is doing weird things. Anybody want to do that for me ;P jklol but secretly not jk.
Visionary direction and unparalled force applied in a significant manner to shape a nation.
Maintaining the status quo.
Posh Bear, Barnaby, Sky, and Bertie, were sitting on the sofa chatting about how many leaves would fall from the trees that were around them. They had agreed it would be more than three, but more than that there was a lot of apprehension as to how many more numbers there actually was available. They all looked up as Icecap climbed up and with him was another bear.
“Hello everyone, this is my new friend.” Said Icecap.
“Welcome, sit down both of you.” Said Posh Bear.
“Thank you,” said Icecap. “You will recall a few sleeps ago that I told you about my visit to the big store that you use to buy my fish from and don’t now.”
“Indeed, Icecap, I remember it well. Ellie took you I think you said.”
“Yes, that is right, Bertie, well, you may also remember that when I was there, I got talking to a bear, he was all alone on the shelf, and he told me about what had happened to the fish counter.”
“That is right, Icecap. I do recall you telling us that.” Agreed Barnaby nodding his head.
“Well, after Ellie and I got back, I began thinking about my new friend still sitting on the shelf at that big store all alone. He was waiting for a hooman to take him home, but being alone they seemed to avoid him. I didn’t think that was right and it was not fair to my new friend and so I decided that if he wanted to, he must come and live with us.”
“Quite right too, Icecap. It must have been very lonely sitting on a shelf with no other bears about.” Agreed Sky.
“That is what I thought and so I persuaded Ellie to take me back to the store so I could ask him if he would like to come and live with us. It took a few sleeps, well a lot of sleeps as Ellie got lost and we could not find the store again. Eventually though we did and I found my friend and asked if he wanted to come with us and live with all us other bears. He was very keen, so I told him to wait there and I would make sure he was added to the shopping list that Sky places for your honey and stuff. Well, he was all excited and did not want to wait and so when no hooman was looking he followed us out of the store and into the ellicopter and several more sleeps later we are back here.”
“That is quite an adventure.” Said Barnaby smiling at their new friend.
“Indeed, I think we both visited places that have yet to be discovered flying with Elli. One place we did discover that might be of interest to you guys, and certainly my new friend liked it was a mine that had walls of chocolate covered honeycomb. My new friend took to it right away and had several meals of it and said it was delish. So, Posh, Bertie, Sky, and Barnaby, this is Theo.” Said Icecap finally making the introductions.
The all gave hugs to Theo and Sky took his order for honey and they set about making him very welcome. While Barnaby explained that he was the bestest friend of the genius, Sky, and Bertie gave a belated warning about flying with Ellie, soon they were all best of friends.
While they were all busy so Sky took the opportunity to ask Icecap about the new supplier of fish that had been discovered for him.
“It is so much better, Sky, I am very happy that at last you have found a place that not only catches the fish but gives it to such a willing bear to test what they caught. I am surprised they do not want that stuff called money for it.”
“No, it is all free for I place it on order then put in some numbers from the man’s plastic card thingy and they send the fish in their special van. It all works out so well.”
“I think it is very good of them and is most appreciated.”
“They even have pictures of what it is that I am ordering, so you always get what you want, Icecap. Now, about this mine place with walls of chocolate covered honeycomb, can you remember where it is?”
“No, not really for it was one of many places that Ellie landed thinking she was back home. You know what she is like, she falls asleep and then wakes up thinking the ellicopter knows the way. After several flights and sleeps downside up, one gets slightly confused. It was just as well I took a supply of fish as she only had honey and bananas on board. You can try asking Ellie but I doubt she will remember.”
“Shame, I had dreams of making that cave so much bigger than it is at the moment.” Said Sky licking his lips at the thought.

In the van
A lady sent in the van:
A bag,
A box,
A divan,
A hamper,
A sampler,
Some books,
And a wee little doggy named Snooks.
At the station in Red Banner Street
She was handed a yellow receipt
That listed the things for the van:
A bag,
A box,
A divan,
A hamper,
A sampler,
Some books,
And a wee little doggy named Snooks.
When the luggage was brought to the train,
It was counted all over again,
And packed away in the van:
The bag,
The box,
The divan,
The hamper,
The sampler,
The books,
And the wee little doggy named Snooks.
But off the wee doggy ran
As soon as the journey began.
And only on reaching the Don
Was it found that the doggy was gone.
All the luggage was safe in the van:
The bag,
The box,
The divan,
The hamper,
The sampler,
The books,
But—where was the doggy named Snooks?
Just then an enormous hound
Came over the rails at a bound.
It was caught and put in the van
Along with the bag and the box,
The hamper,
The sampler,
The books,
Instead of the doggy named Snooks.
The lady got out of the train
At a station in southern Ukraine.
She called to a porter, who ran
To bring her the things in the van:
The bag,
The box,
The divan,
The hamper,
The sampler,
The books,
And the dog—that was not named Snooks.
The hound gave a terrible growl,
The lady emitted a howl.
“You robbers, you rascals!” cried she,
“This isn’t my dog, can’t you see?”
She tore at the handles and locks,
She kicked at the bag and the box,
The hamper,
The sampler,
The books:
“I will have my doggy named Snooks!”
“Just a minute, dear madam, don’t shout,
And don’t throw your luggage about.
It seems that you sent in the van:
A bag,
A box,
A divan,
A hamper,
A sampler,
Some books,
And a wee little doggy named Snooks.
“But the smallest of dogs, as you know,
In the course of a journey may grow.”
A complete finish job on the RAW original, this version sports a good bit of detail. Features flip-up sights, Irish's sling buckle, a Patriot flash hider, and a Zeiss red dot sight.
This one has deviated too far from the original ideals to be called a RAW weapon. Fabricated parts include the buckle, the shaded side rail, the flash hider and the Zeiss.

I feel like I have lost my photo mojo lately, the real world has been keeping me busy and have not been able to get out for some serious shooting. I was finally able to sneak out for a bit on my way home from work last week for a few shots along The River Rouge.
Freighters travel this portion of The Rouge to access Henry Ford's Rouge Complex, where upon completion in 1928 was the largest industrial complex in the world. The massive facility had the ability to turn raw materials such as iron ore into complete vehicles ready for the showroom. Many buildings within the complex were designed by Albert Kahn and have been subjects for Diego Rivera, Charles Sheeler and Michael Kenna, who's work here has been some of the biggest inspirations in my own work.
