Life's good.
This is actually behind my house, but I never shoot here in the summer. In the summer, spiders and other creatures like to hang out in the trees..not a fan. Fall don't leave yet, you're too beautiful.

Took this image as a contender for the 'Smile on Saturday' challenge entitled 'Headwear'
Although it does make me smile (well laugh actually) my granddaughter Sophie called in for a cuppa and agreed to be my headwear model this week !!
(This image is half of the story, read below to know the full).
All storytellers agreed on this legend. Millions of years ago, the forest got infected with myriads of mosquitoes. So many that the Forest got alarmed and sent a message through the ground and air, which went as far as the other side of the world. A magnificent and powerful creature called the Dragon was sleeping there but woke up at sensing the message. Then he flew non-stop 8,000 miles over the ocean, and when he entered the Forest, he devoured all the mosquitoes. When he finished, he looked for a tall grass in a clearing by the forest and rested. While resting decided to make the forest his new home forever.

I love these flowers - but, lets face it, I love almost all flowers!!! These, though are a fabulous blue, and a most intriguing form! Obviously, the bee agrees with me!
A collaboration with the wonderfully talented and beautiful Melissa
She's on the left and my shot is on the right.
Just trying to get back into the swing of things again after a bit of an exodus from the hobby due to school, church, social life, and a general lack of inspiration.
Threw this guy together late last night.
EDIT: Also on a side note, this is easily the most articulated frame I have ever made (or quite frankly seen), the posing possibilities with this guy are endless.
This angel is normally found on the top of our Christmas tree but she agreed to come down and pose for Looking Close on Friday theme Angels.
Happy Christmas!

I'm still messing around with some of the details and colour choices. I'm not sure about the black quarter domes in the chest for example.
"What do you think?" asked the Warlock.
"I don't like him" whispered the skull.
"He's still alive"
The Warlock nodded.
"I'm inclined to agree. Never did like politicians"
For the fantasy and RP lovers Aii made an outfit that is rigged to Legacy Athletic so I made grabby hands for it (it even comes with a monster fur stole). There's several layer options so you can try out different ideas for an outfit. It lets you mod in places too for further styling.
The Ghostmage hands are a lot of fun and follow you like a shoal of magical fish as you walk, as well as reacting as a bumper and typing. They are superior to the usual static halo types and the hud lets you colour them individually too. I added a crown to Krova's Horace skull to make him feel better about himself. I topped it all off with eyes by Hellbourne and gorgeous hand metalwork by VoluptasVirtualis.

I stand there, covered by the field that seem to cover the earth. There is just me, and the worlds beauty, nothing more and nothing less. The sun gentle touch lights up the world that for years has been his loyal companion. I feel like I'm standing in the moment between day and knight, light and dark, good and evil. - by mehsilf

How does this feel? As promised I will show you another infrared image this time taken with the IR Chrome filter. This is a digital emulation of the once existing IR film from back in the days. I started using IR a few years back just for the BNW images but when this filter came around I really started liking the color combo and decided to try it.. This is definitely not everyones cup of tea but we can all agree that we can all use more color in our lives now days. What do you think
Hello everybody! Today I want to show you acreation which I've made in the last days. After creating some fantasy based figures I thought it would be nice to use at least some of them in MOCs :) . Here I made a little house with a fantasy based scenery (therefore there's a bigger mushroom or some taller flowers).
I'm also happy to announce that wlwyb and I started a collaboration: In the next 7 days you can get a 10% discount when you order a periodic table on the website ( shop.wlwyb.com/products/periodic-table-for-lego-colors ). You just have to use the discount code: Balbo .
I hope you like it :)

I've been trying my best to get my image archives organized and as I was passing through last year, I realized it has been a year to the day that this amazing sunset happened at Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands near San Francisco. I've had this one on my edits as a monochrome, but decided to go ahead and process it in color. Looking forward to the winter storms and more dramatic light!

In ACR, adjusted brightness, exposure and white balance for sky only and then again for the foreground only. Blended the two 16-bit tiffs in PS CS5 by hand.
In CS5, layers included:
-Basic Mid-Tones luminosity mask with Curves adjustment
-Vibrance mask for saturation increase
-Saturation mask for saturation decrease
-Burn/Dodge layer with 50% gray and layer mode Soft Light using two different luminosity mask selections to even out the light a little more.
-Noise reduction selectively masked with Noise Ninja
-Sharpening selectivel masked with Nik Sharpener Pro
-Crop to square
-Custom action for web sizing, sharpening, conversion to 8-bit, sRGB, and embedding personal info into exif

#205/365 Post Process Fridays episode #26. This week featured shot from Ian Wedlock. This is a really cool shot he captured one morning heading into work. The original shot was underexposed (see below). Even with raw file lightening up the field caused too much noise. The simple fix was just to paint it green. This was actually was one of the easier PP's I've done in a while but still one of most dramatic change from the original. Hope you likey. HPPF!
An old image from my hard drive that I decided to play around with.....
Taken at sunrise at Merewether Beach (NSW, Australia) way back in May 2011.
The image doesn't follow the classic rule of thirds - but I felt that there was enough interest happening throughout the scene that it warranted the presentation as shown - hope you agree!!
Thanks for any comments, views or favorites - greatly appreciated!!
Wishing each and all of you a fantastic day and week ahead!!

I'm very happy to see a lot of aurora butterflies in my garden.
Between the forget-me-nots and the hare's head, the two agreed to provide for offspring.
It was a challenge to capture them in the picture.

Selection of Gourds. The Angel Gallery in Broseley (near Ironbridge), Shropshire, has kindly agreed to exhibit a selection of my limited-edition still-life images. I'm pleased with this as it's a lovely gallery and they haven't exhibited photography before.
My still-life images are all light-painted with diffused torchlight. Each element of the composition is illuminated separately and the images are then all blended together.
